It's been a known fact since the early days of motorcycling that: ......................

"All Motorcycles Vibrate"!, and that's why "Everyone enjoys to ride them", and especially the women! "Nothing better than getting home after riding a motorcycle all day, feeling the power of the motor vibrating between their legs, and looking "TOO YOU" afterwards:D ... too satisfy that "URGE" left behind from the days adventure of riding that motorcycle!

So what's all the bitch'en about?

I would think everyone would be happy and enjoyable about this!

Oh.....I'm sorry! ....I didn't think about "those" that can't finish the job so to speak.   Sorry!

Maybe instead of complaining, I could suggest that ones having this "issue", ask a brother on this forum too help them out a little in this area! :yesnod:

Hey that's what brothers are for! Too Help each other out! :2thumbs:

I'm sure you'd have all the volunteers you needed if you ask for a little help appropriately!

hey man, Big Dog is an awesome machine....but there's vibration and then there is just out of control vibration on a motorcycle, where you can't keep your feet on the pegs because of it...and with everything tightened down......come on......good greif give me a break...those of you that say you know harleys...please...yes most harleys are rubber mounted motors and yes they move when at idle, such as stop lights but when you take off it is as smooth as can be especially on the highway...NOTHING BETTER for long road trips......awesome design...there is nothing smoother made out there....so those of you who think they know harleys please stop with your know it all Harley comments about vibration because you don't know jack about it....or if you did you wouldn't say anything about vibration on rubber mounted motors on harleys....if I pissed some off....TO BAD....get over it....move on.....

Yup if your going to ride a Big Dog, it's going to vibrate the hell out of you - no arguing that....but it's what it is....it is an awesome machine for what it is.......but be ready for it or don't buy it....simple.....

my opinion.....I own both....so I do know....

:iagree: :iagree: :iagree:

My bikes are 1950 Pan, hardtail solid mounted motor (customizing into a softail frame now), 1977 Shovel, hardtail solid mounted motor (customizing again for the umpteenth time), 1981 Shovel hardtail solid mounted motor, and 2004 Ridgeback hardtail.

For 30 years I've loved every single hard-assed vibrating minute ridding these bikes. Not the softest, quietest, easiest way to go but GOD DAMN they make you know your ALIVE and LIVING LIFE!!!!

Wouldn't want any other way!

Red,
Sorry about the "MOOD" today. Hope things get better! :2thumbs:

But now that you're being much more specific about "vibrations at idle vs. under power"! I couldn't agree with you more about the vibration differences.

But this is also somewhat the "nature of the beast"! Changes in the overall tuning of things like the ignition timing and fuel mix can help "somewhat", but only so much. So vibrations are always going to be the case with these animals. The best suggestion I can give you as far as pegs, find some that you can orient your boots comfortably on, that won't allow them to slide off during these times. Others have also found that by applying a little more "down" pressure on the pegs also helps some.

Other than that, I don't know what too tell you brother.

I know that Fustration and Madness can Suck!

But I do hope things get better for you today! :2thumbs:

Good Luck!

there you go.

if your bike vibrates real bad check the motor mounts then the crank runout.

Ray checked the "run out of his crank" at the "REDWOOD RUN"! :D

Didn't you see the pictures that he posted? :loony:

Someone said something about "Cold Water" ruined the measurements that he was taking?
