Venting shipping frustration

Learn something new everyday:

Some guys here may have this same issue, appearently I live at an address that has 2 different shipping addresses. If a package is being delivered to me by USPS my address is 3614 South County Rd 1313. BUT if I order something online sometimes that address auto corrects to 3614 Parkview rd. Which USPS does not recognize ive been burned 3 times by this auto correction.

Just blowing off steam, I was REALLY looking forward to riding this week but it will have to wait. Thanks alot OBAMA! (I don't know why its his fault, but I gotta blame someone other than myself )

Believe it or not i have the same issues when something is being delievered to me also. Ok so here is what i go thru.
If i order online and it says it does not ship to po boxes i use my street address. Well then the shipper uses USPS and when it gets to the post office because it doesnt have my PO box number on it they send it back to shipper. If it has my po box on it and the ship it fed ex or ups they say my address is undeliverable and they send it back. If it has my street address and they ship it UPS or Fed Ex, Kelly calls me to come get my package. Kelly is the woman that lives at 9 cleveland street spartanburg 29301 as to where i live at 9 cleveland street drayton 29333. Which is the address on the deed to my house, yet the street sign which was replaced 5 years ago says cleveland court, which is not recognized by any map system that ups or fed ex uses. So if you pull my house up by 9 cleveland court drayton sc it comes up 9 cleveland court spartanburg sc 29301...... so please if you ship me something leave Kelly a note saying this is Terrys package. That way she dont open it by mistake. It seems for some reason the sex toys my gf and i ordered were lost never to be found, but Kelly always looks at me like she knows me all to well. Lmao

I feel your pain. I've lived here 21 years, and they have changed my address 3 times. If I give you my address so you can google me for directions, I always ask if you you have an Iphone or android. GPS on an Iphone will take you 30 miles away.

On a similar note. I think UPS driver's come from 3rd world countries. Why? They don't have the concept of what a door or doorbell is. I've been home all day when expecting a package, but only realize my package has been delivered and left at my front door, when going outside to check my regular mail at the mail box. In these days of porch thieves, you would think they would at least ring the door bell (yes, it works) or knock...

I once had it out with fed ex cause they said my package was deliverable due to the fact that I lived on a dirt raod so narrow the truck wouldn't fit down it. I sent them this.

My road bitches:Screenshot_20200909-011648_Maps.jpg

Come to find out the guy that drove the truck on my route, his wife had cheated on him with me 6 months prior. Now in my defense she told me she was separtated. But this guy had come after me once after the affair and not only did i defend myself and kick his ass i had a restraining order issued on him. So when i told his supervisor that not only did he lose his job for not reporting having a restraining order against him, but his supervisor had to deliver my package that evening. Lol

You can actually sign up for text or e-mail alerts through UPS and FedEx that let you know when the package was delivered. I had the same problem you have. The alert has eliminated that. Amazon sends me a picture of the package at my front door!

i have been proactive with UPS and made that arrangement. usps has no such option, i only find out AFTER the fact when the tracking number says it got returned to sender

SKOGDOG

One of the old ones.
Last year we ‘downsized’ and moved into a new home. Susan got online at the USPS website and registered our change of address online. Big mistake—she should have gotten the paper form and filled it out and taken it to the local P.O. All forwarded mail (USPS computer system) went to a house with a similar street name a couple of blocks away.
Lesson: When relocating, fill out the paper form and submit it to your local Post Office. Under NO circumstances use the USPS website for a change of address to have mail forwarded.

I have signed up for the "UPS Tracking", the closest that will get you is, "Out For Delivery" which could mean anything between 8am until 8pm. I'm not going to sit at my front door for twelve hours...lol

Sorry to hear that. I get both...out for and delivered.

I also get both out for and delivered. I also put in a special note that I want everything delivered to the back deck which is covered and they always deliver it to the back deck. ( just in case of rain or porch thieves )
On another note the regular mail USPS gets mixed up all the time. I’ve got to say though my son which has the exact same name as I do ( Except I am the 3 and he is the 4 ) gets my mail and I get his mail. He says if he ever has a son he’s gonna name him the same and keep it going. The only difference there will be his son will be the fifth. His house is on the same street but instead of 1464 his address is 1429. He lived with us and always got his mail here up until he was old enough to be on his own. ( 20 years ago )
So when he bought that house he went down and got an address change at the post office and that’s when it all started. He started getting all my mail. So I went down and talk to the post office and they assured me they straighten it out and then I started getting all his mail. So then we went down together and talk to them and once again they assured Us that they would get it straightened out once again and now 4 out of 10 times he’ll get my mail and 4 out of 10 times I’ll get his mail.
I can sort of understand but all they’ve got to do is look at the Address 1464 or 1429 it’s always correct on the envelope.
He actually bought two more houses on this street since that time and rents One of them out but no issues there. The other one is right next-door to the one he lives in. It is just sitting empty. Don’t know what he’s doing there.
Just think what it will be if he has a son and the boy gives him That houses then they’ll be three of us on the same street what a disaster that’ll be LMAO.

We have a lot of the pkg thieving here too. My son works for ups so I asked him what the policy is for knocking or ringing. He said ups does not require to ring or knock, it’s a courteous thing if they do. I asked why and said they have 80-140 pkgs a day (on his route) they would never get it delivered if they took time to. He said he knocks or rings and leaves (which he doesn’t have to do) My ups driver the other day knocked and left. I agree with u it’s not right with all the stealing but they just following policy
