Hey guys, I am thinking about getting the vance & Hines Big Radius slash cuts on my 2004 bulldog. If any of you have them, do you like them? Any pros/cons? Do the come with a bracket that bolts to the bike for support?? Do you think I will need to re-jet this? Right now, I have straight pipes, that go into one at the end (no baffles) Thanks! Click on my thumnail to see my pipes now.

I guess is that you are going to get a load of different opinions here which is a good thing....here's my two cents...

the debate about them being too common - that's cause it's one of the few "convenient" options available out there...

Yes if you bank hard - you will scrape the tips.. which could also result in a broken bracket - V&H is GREAT with customer service and will send you a replacement bracket or brackets....(i.e. my experience)

You will get some popping - did I just start a debate here

You will have to (must) re-jet

Good quality product - the chrome is solid.

they sound good - The pipes do have a nice "growl" to them (with baffles in them)

While not exactly the same I would say - try and see if you can get a set of hookers - somewhat similar, they might have one or two still lying around that you can get for under $200 - worth a shot (you can't go wrong)

Good luck and safe riding....

Hell, if the Hookers look similar, and for even $300-350, that would be great. I am looking at like $500-650 for the Big Radius. Any part # for the Hookers? And where can you get them? Thanks!

I have the V&H......also have the popping and dragging. And broke the bracket. May just be me. Still like them though, I call them curb feelers

And I've ruined two left front pegs. :D

I have Vance & Hines on my 08 K9. They changed in 08 to set up higher so they dont drag. So far I havent dragged them but I do my pegs all the time. Check with your dealer or call Steve at Bikers Dream 770-752-9160 he a member here.

I've got'em too. 06 K9. And yeah-you'll definitely have to rejet for'em. As for the pipes themselves: absolutely no complaints whatsoever. The chrome's solid and they sound great, even with the baffles (like everyone else says). I, too, do have some popping, though; but not until after installing S&S dual tuned air cleaner. And tip-dragging too. My only complaint is not with the product itself but rather with their prevelance now. When I put'em on, they were relatively new to the market. Not alot of guys had them. Excpet now you see'em EVERYWHERE, which bugs the crap outa me!!! Probably swap'em out for some wild looking daisy cutters this spring.

I just like the way they look. Hell, I have some popping now on decel I guess due to not having baffles. Can the baffles be removed easily? Why would I need to rejet? Wouldn't the Big radius pipes be similar to what I have?

Mike here's a link to the Hooker pipes - It appears that they only have the black ceramic coated pipes left...either way I would call them to find out and DO NOT place an order on line if you call them they will give you a further discount....

Holley Performance Troublemaker Darkside WideTails(Right–side Drive) Products

Other points - yes I do believe the later ('08) pipes were redesigned with a "higher" clearance

You will need to re-jet cause the of the pipes - its not a big deal, drop the float bowl and pop in the new int and main. Tons of how to's on the site...recommended jets .31 int and .76 main.

Good luck....I have the black hookers on my Mastiff works well - suits my bike and style, got it for a song - In fact bought two sets, one is still lying in a box - lol. You can see them in a couple of my posts - search "project complete"

I have them on my 06 k9 and drag the shit out of them on hard turns but I also drag my pegs. I also have the poping but they sound great no baffles and nice chrome.

I have on 2006 K9, and I do like them. I have run with baffles and without. nice sound, loud without baffles, and pooping on decel. I took out baffles and cut in half, a little loud then whole baffle and no popping. most the time if you change things having to do with engine you should at least check jetting, it is pretty easy and the more you do it you will get better at it. If you need help let me no.

Ok Thanks Guys! I appreciate it. I do like the black, but not as much as the chrome (at least on my bike) Too bad the Hookers aren't chrome. Thanks again Bro's!

Ok guys, I am getting the vance Hines Big radius 2 into 2 for my 2004 Bulldog. Where is the best place to get them and the jets? What size jets do I need? I just hace the stock 107 S&S. Thanks! A friend of mine just put them on his 09 Street Glide, and even with the baffles they sounded pretty good. So i will try them with the baffles. I would imagine they would sound similar to his Harley right?
