Vance and Hines Big Radius on 2008 Ridgeback

I just wanted to share something I discovered yesterday much to my happiness. I know many folks think the big radius pipes are on way too many bikes and I agree as I like things that are different but I think they are hard to beat for look, sound and performance. My problem was supposedly V&H doesn't make the big radius 2 into 2 for the '08 Ridgeback only the 2 into 1. I talked to V&H and they said BDM didn't want them to make them. Well turns out that I bought the 2 into 2 pipes Mario had on here for sale that are for the '05 to '07 Pitbull and for the '05 to '06 Ridgeback pn (26021). My thinking was that since the '05 Ridgeback has a 300 tire that it would be close to mine with the 330 and worse case I would have to modify or remake the bracket. So I put the pipes up to my bike yesterday after getting the old ones off and they looked pretty close so I went ahead to see if they would actually bolt up. Turns out, they are perfect and fit just as if they were made for it. So if any of you want to run them on your '08 Ridgeback, they work perfectly. Here are several pics. :whoop:

Excellent!!! I have an 08 Ridgback and am wanting those exact pipes. I don't like the 2 into 1 but almost purchased them.

So there were no issues what so ever mounting them?

Good looking scoot and I am sure others with the Ridgebacks appreciate the info....:2thumbs:

Jeez!! I just spent $165.00 for a chromed modified bracket for the V&H #26037 (it fits the '08 K9).

Isn't there a difference in the arc of the pipes? How far off the ground are the tips?

Your BR's look sweet, that's the look I want!

08ridgid, from what I can tell and from talking to others before I put the pipes on, the only difference from the '05 and '06 Ridgeback is the 330 rear tire vs. the 300 on the older bikes. That is only a little over half of an inch difference per side meaning the pipes would seem to be close to working. I think for the most part the curvature of the pipes is about the same on all the BRs. I have good clearance on the motor, trans and frame. I bought these with the assumption that the pipes would work and I may have to mod the bracket but turns out, they worked perfectly including the bracket and from what I can tell the ground clearance is the same as all the other pictures I see posted on here with them on other rigids and K9s. I rode it 40 miles yesterday on country twisty roads and not a scrape yet.

From where I sit, they work fine

Just ordered them and I will be installing this weekend. With our recent dumping of snow I will have fun raising up the garage door and starting it.

Thanks ALDog for the info!!!! I am very excited to complete the install and hear the difference.

Aldog, Thanks for the info! I guess I just wasted $165.00, hey at least my bracket will be chromed ( it better be the shit too or else I'll be talkin to the folks at CycleCity in TN).

BTW how is the sound? any chance we can get a clip?

If they still have the Baffles in them a lot of the riders on here (including me) pull them out and cut them in half. They really sound awesome!!!!
Not obnoxious when your cruising but when you crack the throttle they rattle the windows. Plus it really reduces the decel pop compared to no baffles.

Just received them at 8pm tonight. It took a hour and a half to install and ALDOG you were right. They bolted right on. I had to make a few tiny adjustments but for the most part really painless. Cranked her uped and WOW!!!!!!!! I can't wait until we get some decent weather so that I can take her out for a spin. Just have to wait for a foot of snow to melt. I took some pictures but they didn't look very good as it is in the garage and under florescents. I will post some on sunday when I roll it out onto the driveway.

Thanks again ALDOG as I almost purchased what I didn't want and with what we pay for our dogs it has to be just right!!!
