Valve springs on 107

Hey brother... I was just talking with John Sachs about this very issue. The early S&S engines, with 600 lift valve springs, have retainers that have holes in them, they're junk. Failure of these components is very common.

Yes, the majority of the 107 engines had triple valve springs. Didn't mean to digress...If you have them torn down, it would be advisable to replace those retainers, if they have the holes going around them. They are big trouble waiting to happen.

Was just installing the comp releases. The bore in the head for them was bit offset, so the tool was bit tight. It was just easier to take it a bit part.... it’s already back together... So Big D’s hint came a bit late....

Ah, I have all back together already, clean and shiny..... wouldn’t like to tear it apart again... I think it had holes... wasn’t curious enough to check what cam it has.
