I am a carrier for the post office and use to have to use my own vehicle for the route. I found a right hand drive jeep cherokee on craigslist for $2500. Used it for a year and sold it. I use a mail vehicle now so no need for one. I know you can also buy conversion kits for cherokees as well

Wheel on the wrong side and a rear door big enough for Gary'a women. I think you are onto something!

On a serious note I've never seen one for sale I think they drive those things into the ground

The newer trucks are all aluminum bodies and called LLV's (long life vehicle) the idea is to remove the body and install it on a new chassis made by GM. They were made by Grumman, about 100,000 I believe, not all were sold to the USPS.

Very funny guys!:) Here,s another funny one. I am looking for one to haul my bike to shows and use it for estate sales. I do think my BD would fit. I usually rent a uhaul for this but I thought a small box truck or van would work better. I have tried to find a small ups or a ford transport van. So far no luck. Then I thought of the post office. So I thought I'd ask around. And here I am. So when all of you people are done rolling around on the floor laughing... Any ideas?

I can say for certainy a big dog wouldn't fit inside one..not long enough. There are walls inside that sorta close off the front from back so you would have to modify quit a bit

:hi: Maybe a used ambulance? one of our older units has been fitted with a winch and folding ramps for those heavier folks (anyone over 450 lbs. works pretty slick, but not used very often. An added plus, there is a ton of storage space and even has a "bench seat" if you want to take a nap. Just a thought.:chopper:
