well just did a nice long carve through one of the canyons above my house, 95 degrees out, 20 miles r/t - so far so good, oil pressure is normal. I don't know why I didn't check this before but the accelerator pump was not even adjusted, it would just fart on cracking throttle. i adjusted it and now the beast barks like it should.

So I'm thinking, why the FFFFFFFFFF did the shop not see the high oil pressure and figure it out. Or adjust the carb properly. I'm so sick of people handing you back shit saying "it's good" when it's half ass.

My battery is definitely toast though, left house with 100% batt (charging system is working ok), did three pit stops / restarts while out, checked battery when I got home and it was at 27%. This is because the battery got too discharged from the stator plug not being connected right (been pretty much riding on battery power only unknowingly for the past 2 weeks, and the stator socket got all arc-damaged). So there goes a brand new Braille out the window due to someone not paying attention. I said F-it and ordered an AntiGravity 24 cell 720cca :D

Cool  - I knew it was something with the pump

What was the oil pressure at idle when you got back? Did you happen to check while you were ripping down the road?

Oil pressure was normal at 17 idle and low to mid 40's revved out. pretty consistent now. I called SS and talked to them, they said what I did with working the spring a bit was a good call. This pump is always going to have a bit more pressure, but it's clearly obvious that it can be adjusted to more or less by modifying the relieve valve spring tension. One important note is that the higher the pressure, the more oil is going to be fed to the rockers first before going to the lower end. I think this may cure my puking issue as well. I have to take another spin and see (last test spin I had the top breather hose plugged per SS suggestion, but of course I'd much rather have it open).
