Ultima Open Belt Drive

So I have exhausted every avenue as far as buying a new belt drive for my 06 K9 unless I want to pay $5500 for a Baker belt drive I found in Europe sitting on a shelf. Ultima claims this belt drive will work if I back cut the splines on the clutch hub to fit the Baker trans shaft. Anyone have any experience with this?

Well we can’t say you haven’t tried like heck to find one. Personally I like the way they look, but more trouble than it’s worth from all the information I have looked at. Unless you are actually planning on drag racing. Even then the advantage is questionable. I like having mine covered. Not a big fan of things that can go wrong with an open primary & the list is many.

You might want to pm Mr. Wright about that. If all you have to do is modify an existing part, Shannon’s your man, and he loves a challenge.
Not sure what ‘back cut’ means. Maybe refers to differences in Ultimate vs Baker transmission shsfts, I assume?
I’d get written specs and assurances from them. Make sure spacers are available for your rear tire size.
That sure is a good looking open primary.
