Typhoon carb

I was asked to post some info about the typhoon carb. It bolts up to any S&S G intake and is simple to tune. The throttle response is great from an idle or at speed. It does require a specific filter system, meaning a airfilter for any other carb wont work on it. The initial cost is high but it is like having many size carbs in one easily tuned box. I'm happy with it but to be honest I wasn't totally unhappy with my S&S either. I tried and E and a G and they both had their good and bad points. The low end was good with the E but tended to flatten out on the top end and just the opposite on the G. I like the looks of the typhoon and it does everything that I want it to right now.

News to me. My bike runs like a raped ape. I think you guys just need to spend the 100 bucks on a good dyno tune and quit thinking that throwing in a 1000 carb is gonna "fix" your bad tune. it's pretty simple, air and fuel in, exhaust out. Make sure the air/fuel is balanced through the RPM ranges and it'll run like hell. Ive had a few shops tell me that my bike is the fastest K9 they've ever ridden and it's nothing special, just the standard mods and a really really good tune.

I can honestly say that I didn't pay anywhere near a thousand dollars for mine. I often tinker with combinations on my bike and my truck that runs a similar type of carb set up. I'm not saying this carb is the greatest thing since sliced bread I'm just saying I like it. I admit the brand new price is steep.

can't argue with any of that Pro - people like me though just like to experiment with this stuff - enjoy buying, fitting and running new parts - its all part of having a bike like ours for me. I'm seriously thinking about changing by Triple X G for a PSI, whcih some people will find ridiculous and even stupid - can't help it though. :2thumbs:

shipping from the UK wouldn't be necessary - remember, Lisa works for Virgin Atlantic and gets discount with FedEx - I may keep it though - I'll let you know - Moe has to have first refusal if I do sell it as he was first in

[They state that it is good for up to a 114" motor?
/QUOTE]

It says 114+. I think that if I change the cam I may need to add the optional thunderjet to it. I will be up in Myrtle beach this weekend and will ask Carl the guy that designed the carb.

Thats Carl's Speed Shop carb. I thought I saw that one before but just setting in a glass case at the shop.

I asked Carl himself about running one on the K-9 but he recommended against it. Can't remember why though.

He did try to sell me a cam & baffle combination he likes but the schedule didn't allow.

That's interesting, I'll ask him saturday about it. I talked to the tech at his shop and told him what I was running it on and he never said anything about it.
