WTF are you guy's talking about?

Can't find any reference to them!
What are they, why change, you can't see plug wires anyway?

It's because of the EMI suppression. These wires are supposed to have it, but it's in a form (twisted carbon weave) that can wear out over time. Also, they can come not suppressed right out of the box. Another set could possibly fix it for you as they're hit/miss. They ALL will cause issues over time as the suppression wears out. Basically if the carbon weave doesn't make a full connection from cap/cap in the wire it's worthless. Over time, the carbon deteriorates or comes loose from the caps. The spark travels along actual metal core, the carbon is just for EMI suppression.

There is some speculation that incorrect wires will actually fry sensitive electrical components (think EHC!). There are a few jap cars that guys have run non-suppressed wires on and have been killing their throttle position sensors...the EHC is too far away, but the electrical interference could run back to the EHC through any wire if things aren't grounded properly.

Search Magnecor, I think Don is doing a group buy as well. I did tons of research on the issue and figured out what the problem is. Our electrical systems are just so sensitive and if the wires emit any interference it'll pick up in the tach first as it's run off the coil which is obviously closest to the wires.

You will see NO performance increase with different wires unless your old ones were bad.

Gee thanks Pro, I feel really good about my purchase now,. I'll keep my spares in the tool bag. :)

No problems with them here. I was able to find larger wire clamps at a local hardware store. Installation took about 30 mins.

Haha they shouldn't just quit on you...they just could start causing funny things to happen. I'm glad some guys are having good luck as they are freakin cool! The mags I got are 10mm and red which I guess has to be cool enough.

I e-mailed these guys last night and looked up their ebay add found their phone number on the ebay store site and will call them this morning, these critters look pretty awsom fat and bright blue, my problem with them is the coil plugin on my S&S is a very small steel peg and the one one the wires are the size that fits cars. at $60 bucks, when they do fit i think the looks will be worth it .....

After sending email after email I finally heard from Crowe yesterday, they sent me a FEDEX return label to return the defective wires; I requested a refund and not another set of wires unless the RFI suppression problem has been corrected, maybe I just got a bad set.....don't know. If no one else is having TACH issues, maybe that's the case, we'll see.....

Wires were returned to Crowe, I requested another set of wires if the RFI issue had been corrected, they gave me refund which to me, implied that the RFI issue has not been corrected. Really wished it was because the wires do look good, but a functioning TACH is more important. Glad they work for some......

Just got them in yesterday, after reworking the coil side of the both wires (the tips seemed an inch short) longh story short, i made them fit.
Fired the dog up, immeaditly noticed a drop in idle (just a tad), and then you could really hear the lopeing from the cam, so no big deal there.
Did not get a chance to test ride, will do that today, cant wait for that extra 9 HP!.
(Just kidding)
The looks alone are well worth $60, there are not many things one could do to a dog
to improve looks, this little item however just seem's to set the right look about the engine.
Know this before buying, there many color options, my frame is blue so i picked blue, perfect choice in my case.
Know this also, there seem to be a few coil configs out there and the guy's that make them really need the EXACT description of what goes in the coil side.

Got them also. Looks great but at idle the Tach red lines as when does at low idle with the other wires. No performance loss so I'm keeping them on. Anyone know why that happens?
I believe the tach redline at idle is a low voltage issue.
My assumption is that if the motor idles to low, then the alternator can't keep up with the headlight being on and the voltage drops to low.

I have the stock plug wires and never had an issue till the other day. I disconnected the battery tender, backed the scoot out of the garage and closed the door before I fired it up and noticed that the idle was low. It still ran and I didn't have a screwdriver handy so I decided to just ride it like it was. I putt-putted through the neighborhood and got to the main road and got stopped at the red light. I had no problems at this point (other than the idle being so low it sounded like a 5hp briggs and stratton) then I turned on the blinker and that's when the tach went bananas. It worked fine unless the motor was at idle and the blinker was on, for a while. then it started doing it when the motor was idleing and the blinker wasn't on. but it always went away if I reved the motor or the motor wasn't idleing. I finally pulled out my pocket knife and barely turned the idle screw to get it back up to where it used to be and had no issues since (altough the next day when I fired it up, it was idleing to high and I had to turn it back down).

I bought these in White to match my bike, I did notice a slight change in the running of my bike to which i didnt like also they are too short. They were actualy melting on the cylinder heads where they were touching ! Put the originals back on and hey presto back to normal......tillthis morn that is.

This MAGNECOR are great, R-100, 10 mm. :2thumbs: but only in Red.

"Magnecor's KV85 Competition (8.5mm) and R-100 Racing (10mm) Ignition Cables feature Magnecor's exclusive 2.5mm high capacity Metallic Inductance EMI Suppressed conductor consisting of stainless steel wire precisely wound at 200 turns per inch over a ferrimagnetic core. The insulating jacket is made entirely of Magnecor's exclusive TC-1500-HS high strength aerospace grade silicone rubber, and its single layer construction will prolong the jacket's insulating ability by conducting extreme heat away from hot-spots that occur near over-the-limit heat sources.

The R-100 10mm jacket has a service heat resistance of 700 degrees F (380 degrees C) and up to 1,200 degrees F (650 degrees C) for short burst 3 minutes. Even if limits are exceeded, the silicone rubber will retain its insulating ability until wires are removed from engine.

Magnecor Race Wires are primarily designed and constructed to be used in applications where it is essential to prevent the possibility of ignition wires compromising engine performance. Modern race engines, modified street engines and stock street engines which rely on electronic devices to control the function of either or both the ignition and fuel systems are prone to interference from all other spiral conductor ignition wires sold through performance parts outlets, none of which can provide proper suppression for EMI, particularly if a high-output ignition system is used.

We always recommend use of our Race Wires for any stock or modified late model street engine that is electronically managed, however most other modified or street engines can also use our Race Wires to improve ignition performance"

I am not sure if Mad Dog has got them http://www.bigdogbiker.com/forums/ignition-electronics-batteries/36140-magnacor-spark-plug-wires.html

I bought mine online for $45 in an special.

Okay - who voted "Installed - Ruined the EHC ". I imagine that is bullshit. No way you ruined your EHC from a set of plug wires....

I believe the tach problems are possible but other than that I can't see how swapping back to the stock wouldn't fix any issue these may cause.

06 Mastif, purchased red wires and had imediate problems with spedo & tach. switched to other wire and the problem was gone. Really wished they would work. I like the looks or them

installed mine about 2 months ago look awesome and no discernible difference in anything except it seemed to start a l;ittle quicker, a little crisper in the uptake.
