Twin Weber DCOE Intakes

I apparently don't have enough frustrations in my life, so I'm contemplating this setup for my '08 Ridgeback. I'll begin my endeavor with the anticipated abuse from your responses to this thread. Seriously though, anyone have any experience with these setups? I don't intend to race it, nor take extended trips on it, but was thinking it would look great on my bar hopper! (assuming I can get it to work long enough to make it to a bar and then back home!)twin-dcoe-dual-throat-weber-carburetor-kits-10.jpg

That is wild looking, but I just don't think it would be practical. Getting it tuned perfect would be a pain because the rear cylinder runs hotter than the front. Most likely, the carbs would be tuned differently if taken to a dyno. IMO, these set-ups are meant more for art than function, like a bike in Easyrider magazine. I don't have anything against that. It just isn't meant for practical day-to-day riding.

Yeah I like the symetrical look but I'm not even going to try and tune that -- If I did that for looks not performance I'd just block the gas going to one side and run using the other side -- might need a custom manifold for that.
I really think it would be more trouble than its worth. But hey what do I know, I use EFI

I use to know a guy that had a Arlen Ness bike with a set up like this, but wasn't using S&S carbs it ran another type, but he would have trouble when leaving the upstate and going to the beach or higher elevations in the mountains with running to rich or lean, but when just around town it ran great and was quick too. Having it dyno tuned at the local shop did cost twice as much as my old harley softail also...lol

years ago tried to built in a weber combined with a T charger in a motorcycle.
Made lot of problems - moved to solex carburator - worked better, but looks not so beautyful.
Means Lot of work for an eyecatcher - maybe you find a pretty solution with mr. turbos page.
Tuning on BMW 2002 tii began with those carburators longer time ago....
Drove BMW 2002 as my first car and our local bmw dealer made hill races with the 02.
Georg Bock was really good on those cars and had with Heinz Schmidhuber a top mechanic in his team.
spent some time in his company - at motorcycle area in the early 80s and later.
