Trouble with new throttle cables-1" too long?

Hey fellas,

I am at the end of a complete overhaul of my 07 K9. Everything electrical has been replaced. Thunderheart module, optima ignition and coil, drag controls and mirrors and Kurakyn grips.

After chopping the handlebars and making them 1" longer on each side I put new throttle cables on, Drag 44". The factory cables were 43" and the only size my local dealer could get was 44's. This seemed to make sense since the bars are now 1" longer on each side. The trouble now is that the way we found to route them we are either short by a few inches or running them as they were on factory I can only get about half throttle.

Wondering if anyone else has come across this and how they remedied it. Right now I am thinking about running them on the left side of the tank and wrapping the cables where they cross the fuel tank.

Thanks

Sounds like an adjustment problem. As long as you have the same travel with the new cables as the old, they should work. Measure the travel on the old cables and compare with the new ones.
