Trouble installing PDM

Energy One
The guy I'm buying the bike from (07 mastiff) doesn't know much, and im in the same boat. I asked him if under the seat there were 14 or 18 LEDs. He stated that there are 3 lit up and that that was all he could see. (not 14) While running, Blue and amber flashing one then the other flashing pretty fast then a red led flashing slower. Thanks ahead of time! This forum is awsome!!!! Glad I joined!!!

Thanks for all the assistance guys. I pulled the coil cover and ignition switch and found a "jumper" installed on the switch wire.
Removed this and everything is working like it should. Thanks again for all the input.:cheers:

Now somebody is going to tell me that if you remove that jumper the engine will lock up.:roll:
Strange for I have a 2005 Mastiff and there was no such connection in mine like that. Just a connector that went to the switch, but no jumper. Also on the switch, all it does is close a circuit or open it for making the connection to ground for the power. Very simple and if the switch every failed, it can be just remove and the 2 wires tied together to get it started. Seems like something someone added for some unbeknowst reason at one time or another.

If that jumper was bad and not allowing the connectivity to flow, I could see why it would cause the problem. Removing it and allowing the switch to completed the circuit is how it should be. Anyone else seen such a jumper on the key switch by chance on a 2005 or any for that matter?

Thanks for all the info so far! One guy is telling me the red ignition light is blinking while running and the other is saying that it is solid while running. Don't know what is good and what is bad fellas. Tell me what to think.

I'm wandering if it is a different brain cuz there both saying orange and blue are flashing back and forth when it's running.

Red is the power. The other two lights are the coils for the cylinders. One is your front and the other your back. They will flash back and forth when the bike is running because of the cylinders firing. That is your ignition, not your EHC.
