:hi: I want to change the trees on my bike to a more custom looking tree. I found some that I like that will fit a 2000 - 2008 FXDWG, like but do not know if they will work on the dog. (41mm 3 Degree Rake Chrome Gothic FXDWG Triple Trees)

I know I need the 41mm 3 Degree Rake but in relationship to a Harley or any other bike, I have no idea what might work on a big dog, if anything at all. Can some one tell if the aobve will work on my dog or where i might find some Gothic style trees that will work on a (2006 Mastiff).

Thanks

I reckon you should go for a 5 degree rake (as long as it is safe to do so) to give it a more stretched out look. Thats what I want to do at some point in the future. Need to get your trail calculations right.

If you go to 5 degrees, just go 2in longer on the front end. That puts your trail in the ballpark.

Thanks for the info guys, I am going to visit with a local custom builder and see what he might be able to get for me. I don't want to give up the front turn signals and that is what I am faced with if I go the the gothic. I would just chrome what I have, but why not get sometime cool while I am at it.

Thanks Again

Also be ready to do some wheel spacing and or some milling of the fender mounts. Big dog has used different spacing on the fork tubes on some bikes, so when you change trees the distance might change between the centerline causing some extra work.
