Transmission Question

I was reading back through the open primary thread,
http://www.bigdogbiker.com/forums/transmission-drive/63336-belt-driven-primary.html
and got to thinking on it. Why was I the only one running the Ultima OP that had problems getting it to fit?
I was installing my starter a couple days ago, (I knew this) but renoticed that I'm not running a Baker transmission, It's the Jims transmission.

So my question is, What is the different between the Jims and the Baker?

From what I understand

Jim's were used on the 03 and below dogs.
In 04 they used some leftover Jim's cases and baker guts
In 05 they went full on baker and switched to right side drive

Not that it matters but my 2000 has a Total Performance case and Andrew said it could have any ones guts in it. Just a bunch of mixed up Mutts!

And I have an 04 with a Jim's rsd. And when I pm'd Andrew asking if it would have the mainshaft problem he said no.

I was wondering if it had heavier parts in it, because I had to machine out the clutch hub to get it to fit. The splines were the same, it just wouldn't slide up on the shaft.
If that's the case, I might have talked nhstomper out of something he wanted, because of my ignorance.

You had the Baker shaft which is thicker than a Harley shaft. I had to do the same thing, I guess it doesn't matter what case you have just the guts inside. Baker rules...
