Transmission noise and engine vibration questions

I have 2 issues to ask the wealth of knowledge on here.

1. Since I have made my bike quiet again (temporarily), I have noticed that I have a lot of "whining" type noise when I downshift to 1st or 2nd when slowing down (keeping the clutch pulled in) from highway speeds. This to me sounds mostly like noisy synchronizers, but since warranty is running out, I want to make sure. Any opinions on this? Transmission shifts fine and no other issues so I might just be paranoid on it.

2. Since I put the V&H BR 2-1 with stock baffle on it, I feel a pretty pronounced engine vibration at 2000 rpm. Do you guys feel a vibration at 2000 that is pretty well gone at 2500? I don't recall feeling this with the V&H BR 2-2 with BCT monster baffles. My hope is that it's just a result of backpressure I didn't have and it will go away with me putting in the V&H competiton baffle inth the 2-1 pipes. Any thoughts here?

It may be the disc brake hissing noise when your on the brakes like mine. get on the brake and off to see if sounds stays or goes away. It may be as simple as that. Change now to the Redline V-Twin Shock trans oil or some guys use the Heavy Shock, it may help before you check on WARR service.

I get minor vibrations around 2K+ rpm but nothing bad or abnormal. Check your ignition cover head mount bolts and the upper motor to frame mount bolt for proper tightness. The bike will vibrate a bit more when they loosen a tad. Remember, it's a solid mounted V-twin.

It's not the same type of noise as the brake hissing.

I was just thinking I have seen a number of posts on here about bearing failure in transmissions. I am basically asking what symptoms (or noises) they had in those bearing failure cases.

Honestly, IMO, if you go to Iron Lightning they will tell you everything in your tranny is fine. They did the same thing to me but only it was my starter. BAM! starter died! after warranty of course. Just sayin.

I wish I had more money.
Rem. My bike has the same vibration. I developed it this year. It is an 03 mastiff with 14000 miles. I cant figure it out. No mater the gear. In neutral or in gear. Any gear. Felt most at about 1900 . You get it squared away by all means let me know!

Mine will do it with the dog in neutral and just bring rpm to 2000. I might be wrong, but I don't think it did this untill I put this new exhaust on it.

The BCT baffles are in my BR 2-2 pipes, I now have BR 2-1 on it.

I decided to go with the V&H BR 2-1 competition baffle this time. If that doesn't do well, I will fabricate a baffle similar to a BCT for it

this might seem like a waste of time but have you tried to reinstall the old set of pipes and compare for vibrations? You may be able to eliminate some possibilities. Good luck.

I believe the increased vibration may be caused from the different pipe support bracket. The 2 into 2s support bracket seemed to give more support and was more solid. You might want to check the torque on your motor mount bolts as a precaution. As for the whining sound, my bike made it from day one when down shifting. My harley does it too! Tell you the truth, I wouldn't worry about it. :D
