Trans swap

Good morning all! I have a few questions about swapping transmissions. Not to dive to deep in the rabbits hole, but long story short mine is scrapped. My question is having an 07 K9 with a RSD what other options are out there if I don't want a Baker. Primarily the starter, all the cases I see have the housing built into it but mine bolts to the inner primary. So what's a fella to do if he wants to change over, where do I start

The frame is set up for a DSSC Baker trans I don't believe there is any other direct bolt on but the DSSC we all have in our RSD Big Dogs.
Would have to change the mounts on the frame or "try" to fab some sort of adaptor.

Stick with Baker ,you can`t get a better transmission. Have Andrew Barnes rebuild it and do any upgrades that need to be done, You won`t be disappointed. I`m love my tranny and how it shifts.

Can your case be welded ?
Maybe on of the supporting buisnesses
on here might have a DSSC case .

I think ultima sells transmissions that will mount to our bikes but I still think baker is the better option !

BBChopper, I was disassembling trans and when I pressed out the shaft it pulled the bearing with it taking a piece of the case in a perfect circle with it.:bang:

So all you need is a new case? Call Andrew or send him a message, he will get you going again in no time. Well, no time after he returns from Europe that is... Did you call Baker?

We'll got Baker on the phone today and here's the list

269 for rebuild kit
280 for main shaft
600 for case
200 for labor

Total 1349

I remember Baker telling me that the cases were the weakest part of the whole transmission.

What about Jim's? Are their cases tougher? If so I guess it would depend on the cost difference to determine if it's a worthwhile upgrade...

I did talk to Jim's but all they did was refer me to baker
