Trans Problem (Another)

Do you recall the circumstances? I have seen a burnt shift fork before, but as I recall, the countershaft has moved throwing a side load of the fork.
DV, if my bike jumps from third back to second just every once in a while could that be a 1/2 shift fork issue? or if not, what would cause that problem?
Thanks, BBD

When does this occur, steady cruising, acceleration or deceleration?

DV , it happens on acceleration after shifting up from 2nd to third. Usually just after a shift from second to third. Not all the time though. Just occasionally.

Just curious, of all the trans issues, what are people running for transmission lube? Is there any correlation with a specific transmission fluid with the problems that people are having?

Pop the tranny cover and take a look around. Might have to remove the shift drum, but you'll get a good look at the forks and greaset. A good time to check condition of the shift dogs on the gears and sliders.
