I have a 05 bigdog chopper with a good amount of motor work. I was riding home from a charity event and my trans started to whine and grind. I brought it into bourgets in ft lauderdale fl and they pulled the trans appart. they found that a bolt loosened up and snapped off and did some damage. There was metal everywhere. I told them that what ever the trans needed just to replace it even if it was marginal. As soon as I picked the bike up I heard a whine on deceleration in every gear except 6th. And the whine follows the speed of the bike (Higher whine at higher speeds and gets lower when slowing down). Noise is still there if you have clutch level in or out but noise will go away if you give it some gas with clutch pulled in or out. When I brought it back to them they told me that they didn't hear anything, but I know my DOG and it wasn't there before. Anyone know the insides of these tranny's? Any thoughts out there? anyone have a schematic on it?

Doesn't sound right if you can hear whinning constantly. Strange, what type of oil are you running in it if you know? May try changing it out to Redline Shock Proof to see if that helps.

Did you get a break down of the parts they installed? Were any bearings replaced? Have dealer change the oil drain then drain oil into a glass jar then run a magnet in the oil. If you pickup metal it went thur your bearings then this will cause problems.

I had them replace all bearings. (or thats what they told me). I'm going to drain the oil myself and take a look.
