Trans input shaft

Have a slight wooble in the ring gear/clutch pack. Pulled the primary open because I was having difficulty adjusting the clutch. When I first got the 08 the clutch hub nut was loose so I headed staight for this to find that if I rotated the clutch pack in neutral the the chain would rise and fall and you could see the hub move slightly (very slightly ) from side to side as if the input shaft was bent.

Now another member (Double D) just posted the same thing and he ended up having a warp in the carrier i beleive

I got the stuff apart and every thing looks good to the eye so my question would be is what is the best way to check for trueness of the transmission input shaft ?

I don't have a indicator setup but I have done some simple thigs and it appears straight. Double D had the same problem and did some excellent vids on his problem.

Any Ideas? H E L P

I am going through this very issua at this time, once I removed the entire clutch assembly, basket and carrier, the whole shebang,I seen that my trans bearing and seal was destroyed allowing my clutch basket to wobble ever so slightly...I couldnt get no clutch adjustment no matter how hard I tryed....not to mention I only had 1 bolt holding the trans to my bike allowing the trans to get cockeyed while under torque, and busting the bearings up........I was the same way..automatically thinkin it was the clutch hub nut backing off again....same symptoms different cause this time....

Thanks Jimi. All my seals and bearings look good. No metal shavings or filings. Nothing on the drain plug magnet. Checked trans bolts before spring. I'll keep diggin. V

interesting V I have the same problem on my scoot .... everything works fine it's just bugs the crap out of me seeing my clutch hub assembly with a slight wobble .... tried to fix it but I still haven't figured it out....

how much is the wobble ? well the human eye will pick up an out of concentricity condition at about .007"

I replaced the:
1) clutch hub bearing
2) inner primary case bearing
3) new chutch hub
4) new clutch basket
5) new transmission with zero miles (blew the orginal at 20K)

Needless to say I still have the problem and I have seen your post's and comments on other technical threads ....your a hands on guy... so i'm hoping you will figure it out
