Trans Drain seal

Hey Guys I have an 08 Mutt with a leak under the trans where the drain plug is at first I thought it was the drain plug so I removed it changed oil and added a bit of thread tape still leaking after reading a few threads it sounds like it may be a drive seal its only a small weep that happens during riding my question is 1 should the drain plug have an o ring on it the manual doesn't show one and it seemed to tighten up more. Before I removed the plug it hang out of the hole a few mm now its flush. The second question do you think it is the seal leaking the oil is coming from under the pulley and floating back.

In some cases the leak came from were the starter joins the primary. Clean everything properly and try to locate the source.

Can you see any oil residue coming from under the drive pulley on the trans? I don't know what pipes you have on your bike, but I could reach my finger up under the drive pulley and wipe to see if the drive pulley seal was leaking. If its that, the seal is only about $8-10 and is an easy fix to remove and replace, just a pain to get there to it.

I'm going to throw a couple more ideas out here, but I haven't had a Mutt in my shop to say I know anything about it.
I know on the K9, there was an o-ring in behind the drive pulley, that when it starts to go bad, it will make the pulley get loose and leak. Someone mentioned on here to leave that o-ring out when you replace the seal, so the nut will tighten properly to the right torque specs.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong you I don't lead him astray.
