Tranny sticking!

After all the great help getting my electrical gremlins sorted out.....

Shifted great in the Garage but a mile down the road the shifting got real tight and didn't want to shift up into second.
I've done four adjustments but end up the same.
I am going to lube up the helms and change all my fluids as that definitely needs to be done.
I did pull my rod out and it seems to have a very slight curve to it.....

Also do I have to pull the primary cover to check the basket and hub nut?

Suggest doing one thing at a time and then riding bike to see if it fixes it so you'll actually know what the problem was. I would start with the helm joints on shift rod. I know I had an issue years ago with mine even though they looked fine, I replaced them and it solved my issue. It would shift but it wouldn't come back to like a neutral spot where you could go to up or down to the next gear.

Went out pulled the clutch lever..... reached down and gave her a couple cranks.
Locked right up!

If your going to change your trans fluid be sure not to overfill and also some brands are not recommended. I don't remember the names of the "do not use" trans fluids but I'm sure someone on the site will be able to guide you. These are the adjustments for the trans if you don't already have them. Make sure your push rod is lubed and hopefully the slight bend isn't causing the clutch adj to be difficult to get.

Yep. And might as order a new rod for ur clutch. If its got a bend, even slight, you will play hell adjusting the clutch.

I have the same issue. Hard to shift from the first to the second gear. Almost impossible to switch neutral when idling. When the bike is moving I twist the throttle to switch between gears. To get neutral I have to start switching when the bike is still rolling. Clutch adjustment helped a bit, not much though. I was told I have to adjust it from the right side. There is a cover and a nut under it which is very sensitive. I have 6 speed Jims transmission.
