Trailers

I'm looking to buy a trailer so I can haul my bike (6' wide, 10' long). I'm not looking to do alot of hauling because I'd rather ride, but sometimes it would be best for me to haul. i.e. breakdowns, services at the dealer, etc... I am looking at two types of trailers, enclosed and open utility. I'm looking at new but would like to find a late model used trailer that's in good condition. What type of trailers do you all have? Any good place to find a good new or used trailer in NC?

I just purchased (August) a new enclosed H & H trailer, which is a 7x12 round nose, tandum axle. Has a large spring tension cargo door and a 32" side door. It has room for my K-9 and my wifes HD 1200 sportster. Installed 3 (10 ft. long)tracking for the adjustable D-rings. This has worked for me. My service dealer is over 125 miles from me, so this helped getting the DOG for service.

For the open trailer you might want to look at what they have at "Milam's Equipment" in Danville Va. They have the Aluma Brand that is open with a V shield in front. Mag wheels, weighs around 600 lbs i think. All aluminum,no rust
and I think they start at around $1500-$1600 bucks. Nice looking trailer, I've been thinking about one just to get to the dealer if I need to instead of my beat up 7'x 12' equipment trailer

Over and out V.

Maybe we could get a "group" buy, I plan to get a utility trailer before spring.
I am looking for a v-nose around 21'-23'.
I need to list my travel trailer this weekend, may find an interested hunter?
Looking for good price and towability, plan to sell my F250 as well.

Chris,
The XL Series H&H, 7x12 tandum axle trailer, digital brake lights ,with spare tire, roof vent, 2 wheel chokes,(3) ten foot sections of tracking for the D-rings, (8))D-rings plus tax, and brake controler installed in vehicle, came to just short of $4,900.
The only complaint is, that I have to fold in the left mirror or turn virtcal on K-9, with the kick stand down while bike is in trailer. Otherwise it pulls great and trailers very well.

Yeah that is my problem. I can't imagine $4k for a "tool" that I may only use a handfull of times a year. Hell for that much is it worth it? I can rent one for a trip.

I have an all aluminum Pace Silver Arrow V nose, plenty of room for 2 dogs and all your other junk.

Chris,

Renting a trailer in your area might be handy and available, but rentals are not available in my area. The down side is you have to have a place to park it, if no room at your residence. But, if and when this winter, I plan on taking a trip down south, I can haul bikes to a warmer climate.
Also, for those of you that are seriously looking, take your time, and find what will work for you. I think in some areas, there is as over supply of trailers. The economy is is putting a stop or slow down on sales for large dollar items, motorcycles included.

Yeah... you can get trailers from a few places around here.

Parking it isn't a problem... I can park it at work.

Very nice trailer and bike. By the looks of it that type of trailer is probably out of my price range. I'm looking at less than 3 grand for the enclosed and less than 1100.00 for the open for the new trailers. But I havent given up on looking for a nice used one.

I'm with Front.. I love the nice enclosed trailers... I just don't have the cash flow... unless I cut into the bike fund which I definately don't want to do.

stones coming up from your own tires is one thing , but blown tires coming off of big rigs is another. i don't think a front guard would be enough to stop a thrown alligator. would be a whole lot better to protect the dog as best you can.
