Tragedy - BAD DAY

If this won't make you cry nothing will!

After spending a winter doing a full re-build on the Dog. After Airbrush spent a full winter doing a spectacular paint job on my tins. I finally get the bike back together.

Take it out for one test ride to make sure everything is OK before I get out and let her bark. After an hour I take the bike home, park it in the garage and in the house I go to brag to the wife about what a wonder machine the Dog is.

Couple hours pass, I head back out to the garage to head out again. HERE IT COMES - The front brake master cylinder has leaked brake fluid all over my tank and the paint has peeled like a sunburned chicken!

After I throw my guts up on the garage floor and a psychotic hour of screaming and throwing everything near me, Carrie my wife, finally risks entering the garage and hugs me while I have an emotional break down.

Once I stop shaking I take the master cylinder off and the piston falls out in my hand. (TAKE NOTE: THIS WAS A BRAND NEW "CHROME BD" FORWARD CONTROL")

Lesson learned lady's and gents - trust nothing new, check it all over 1st before installing it. Strange thing is when we did a bleed on the front brake it seemed a little soft, however it built pressure when pulled about 1/2 way back.

I'm in a very bad place right now... I feel bad for me, Ed and the walls in my garage. Life goes one.

Wow.....that sucks......I would be a mental case (actually, my wife might tell you I already am)......Sorry to hear that !!

WOW  Very sorry to hear......After reading your story I started crying and felt like I needed to throw up. Thats got to hurt. Only thing I can tell you is to back up, take a break and get it fixed. Probably not what you wanted to hear. I don't think anything will make it better until its fixed. Again......very sorry to hear

Man, What a hit! I can feel your disappointment all the way from here in Utah!

But I can only say that I am happy that you are OK (no injuries) because when I saw the title line: "Tragedy" I thought of that.

As bad as it is, paint can be replaced.

Sorry to hear this, Shovelcowboy

Awwwwe Maaaaaan. I wold have lost it if that had happened to me. I may be wrong but brake fluid shouldnt have bubbled the paint up that quick. I feel for you and wish you the best of luck.

Doesn't Air-Brush Ed cover that under his warranty?? Sorry, bad joke...trying to add some levity to a grim situation.:zzdisappointed:
I also feel your pain! BUT, like everything in life except life itself when it ends....it's fixable and not the end of the world.
Still, I know it's frustrating to say the least. Good luck, man!

Yeah I'm a F'n idiot sometimes. Got the posters name wrong. Of course I've seen you here thousand of times and still got it wrong. Like i said "an F'n idiot".
Not a problem, Kaptin! Believe me, I've been a "F'n idiot" myself more than a few times.
