Haus Of Trikes and Bikes in Fort Myers FL has a 2008 Ridgeback on the floor. They have been a BDM dealer for about 6-8 months. They have this bike discounted like $8,000, down to somewhere around $22,500 brand new.

It is silver and blue if I remenber right with flames.

Chris @ the Haus hooked CURDOG up on his trade in!!!
Damn! $22,500.00???? That sounds fantastic. Much better then starting at an MSRP of $31,000.00 for a left over. Are you sure? Sounds too good to be true. I'll check it out. Thanks for the heads up.
All I want is a good deal. Not having to listen to the typical B/S stories they expect you to believe. Like this guy Carl telling me he sold 2 Big Dogs yesterday. There your best buddy until you tell them frank about what kind of an offer he's really trying to sell you, then he don't want nothing to do with you. If you think about it, he's offering my $16,000.00 for my trade and wants $12,090.00 cash. That comes out to about $29,000.00. 2 thousand less than MSRP($31,000.00). Some deal, ah? Why is an honest salesmen so hard to find?

Another Question.

Would it be a better choice for me to consider buying an 08 K-9 over an 08 Ridgeback, on account of the rear suspension differences? Also, researching what's available in my state, I am finding out the 08 Ridgeback leftover's are going for about $26,000.00, before negotiation. This is a big far cry from the proposed $31,000.00 Carl's Speed Shop is trying to make me go for. Any advice?

if you can...take both bikes for a ride a get the one that fits you the best....everyone has their prefferences....I like the look of the 330 fatty...but then again...I also like having a suspension....especially with the shitty ass roads we have in Michigan:rolleyes: good luck dude:cheers:

Heres what I did to get my price where I wanted it> i picked an area out that had worse economy. New orleans was the place. This was before Katrina and then there was not much work there. That made the prices for bikes and everything else lower. My quote from them was $3000.00 less than in Houston. From there I worked the dealer in Houston down to where they needed to be.

Making It Happen.

Well, I'm in the process. I made contact with Tonya today at Tampa Big Dog. I'm also waiting on Tank to call me back with the final figures. They even have an 08 Ridgeback in a color I much more prefer than any color I've seen so far: Candy Red With Ghost Flames; to quote Homer Simpson:("Oh Yea, That's The Stuff"!!!). I'm getting closer, we'll see.

I appreciate that you would offer that to me. I am in the process of a deal with the Tampa Big Dog dealership. I gave them my bottom line with my trade, I haven't heard back from "Tank" as of yet. Maybe no answer is their answer. I hope not. I will see and let you's know.

Tampa Big Dog Is Full of S***.

Well, it's official. Over a measly $1,000.00, Tank at Tampa Big Dog would not agree to a deal on a 2008 Ridgeback left over(14 months old). He was even indignant about it. He acted like he was doing me a favor offering me $12,000.00. So much for them being highly recommended. I don't know how anybody else has dealt with them but they are the same s***, like any other new car/new motorcycle salesmen I ever dealt with, no different! He didn't even want my trade. He wanted all cash for the deal. In today's economy, In his dreams! Ain't nobody walking in his shop paying cash for his bikes. If they were, he wouldn't have over a dozen of 1 and 2 year old Big Dog's sitting in his shop. He tells me $11882.00 yesterday. I offered him $11000.00 out the door and If he agreed I would be in today with the check and my trade. He calls back today and the price went up $200.00. He says $12,000.00 out the door. Then he tells me he never said $11,882.00, he said he had to check on it, B/S! As I told him, I'm the one with the money, I can go anywhere. I told him, I will find a Big dog that I want at the price I want, it just won't be from him. I told him, thanks for nothing! Just goes to show, Big Dog dealers are no different than any other lying scum Harley Dealership. Maybe it's good in the end, I'd most likely get the same attitude for when I would have to bring the bike in their for service, oh well. The search continues! :zzdisappointed:

Well thats a bad statement to generalize all Big Dog dealerships. Thats like saying since 1 white guy can't jump, all white guys can't jump. Ignorant. You went to a bad dealership that has a asshole owner, that's all. Take your cash to someone who appreciates you.

Ignorant your ass. That's my years of experience, proof! I've been there. They aren't out for my or even your benefit. They are in the business of separating "as much" money as they can from you and me, even if it's dishonest. It's just some are worse than others. In today's economy he's going to lecture me on how good he's doing, B/S. As I said, his numerous stock of 1 and 2 year 'OLD' bikes don't lie. They are your best friend until you stop spending money their or expect them to fix a problem under warranty, then they don't want to deal with you anymore. This I've experienced. Salesmen are a dime a dozen. That's why the business has so much turn over. Until I find a dealership that proves itself and I can honestly say they treated and dealt with me honestly and fairly every time, the are lying conniving scum. That's a fact. As I said, It's my money I can go anywhere, I will find what I want. It 'sounds' to me like you are a bit naive. But thanks for the feedback, Tank. :job:

Talk to Tonya at Tampa Bay, I bought an 07 chopper and my buddy bought a K-9 at the same time in December and we have been totally pleased, I took it back for 500 mile service and that expierence was great also. Taking it down Saturday for .600 cam and service. They have a lot of bikes on the floor.

No, not at all. I'm just confused why anyone would want to stick up for any Dealership. I don't have the opinion that they are doing me any favors, that's all. They are what they are.

I used to be able to jump. Not anymore. Old age has set in. Not sticking up for any dealership. I just would not say all are bad because of one bad apple. Where I bought mine, the salesman was a great guy. He even gave my company alot of work at his personal home months later after I bought the bike. This economy has put them under as well though. Sad. I know you will find a great deal soon enough, Good luck, I got first round when your in So Cal.

tommyboy, I appreciate the dealer heads up for bike week. I don't see very many bikes with prices listed on there site. They have number 1's where the prices should be. If you've been following my posts, aside from the bad experience I had yesterday over the phone with Tampa Big Dog, a dealer I've been in negotiation with blinked. I am on the verge of finalizing the deal. I think this is it. It's so close I am getting pre-buyers remorse. Questioning if I should actually go through with it. You know how it is. I got the butterflies in the stomach. I wish I had pictures to post right now but I don't as of yet. If I go through with it, I will most certainly post them for all to see. So much drama in such a short time for a new bee to this site, ah?

Road Glide.

The Road Glide hasn't given me any issues 'as of yet" my fathers 2008 Heritage Softail Classic is a another story. I am just disgusted with Harley Davidson, once and for all. I always wanted a Chopper anyways. It seems like that will be the case, real soon. I guess the saying is true, "be careful what you wish for, you just might get it". :)

The Bottom Line.

I put this final question in my other post but it fit's here more appropriately. When all is said and done, do you's think that trading in my 2008 Road Glide for a 2008 Ridgeback is a good idea? Will I enjoy it more? Keeping in mind, I am giving up alot of comforts and draining a large sum of my savings. Any opinions? I would appreciate it.
