Like yourself I was getting a little disenchanted with Harley and wanted something different. I've always admired the Big Dogs so I took the plunge sold my Harley and bought the K-9. What works for me does not necessarily work for someone else.

I think you answered your own question in your previous response.
The question is what do you want? I agree the Road Glide is like driving a Quote "Couch" and the Ridgeback will be much more road sensitive so to speak but a hell of alot more fun to ride. If you haven't taken one for a ride I would suggest it.

My 2 cents.....

For what it's worth, I bought my 06 Ridgeback from Tampa Big Dog and I was living in Virginia Beach at the time. They gave me an excellent price on my Trade, (14,000 for an 02 Fatboy). Everyone I dealt with was straight with me and I have nothing but good things to say. They even arranged to have the bike delivered to me in Va Bch for a fair price. Best wishes to you.

Buy the Dog. Better built, chicks dig em and you cant take your fuckin money with ya:cheers:

I put this final question in my other post but it fit's here more appropriately. When all is said and done, do you's think that trading in my 2008 Road Glide for a 2008 Ridgeback is a good idea? Will I enjoy it more? Keeping in mind, I am giving up alot of comforts and draining a large sum of my savings. Any opinions? I would appreciate it.

Ignorant your ass. That's my years of experience, proof! I've been there. They aren't out for my or even your benefit. They are in the business of separating "as much" money as they can from you and me, even if it's dishonest. It's just some are worse than others. In today's economy he's going to lecture me on how good he's doing, B/S. As I said, his numerous stock of 1 and 2 year 'OLD' bikes don't lie. They are your best friend until you stop spending money their or expect them to fix a problem under warranty, then they don't want to deal with you anymore. This I've experienced. Salesmen are a dime a dozen. That's why the business has so much turn over. Until I find a dealership that proves itself and I can honestly say they treated and dealt with me honestly and fairly every time, the are lying conniving scum. That's a fact. As I said, It's my money I can go anywhere, I will find what I want. It 'sounds' to me like you are a bit naive. But thanks for the feedback, Tank. :job:

your gonna need a dealer for warranty/recall/service work right?

which lying conniving scum do you plan on using?

and how do you think you'll be treated after your local dealers in FL see your posts here? which they will.

"Stealership"?

Guy... motorcycle dealers aren't in the charity business. They have to make money, just like everyone else. Shopping around to get a good deal is fine, but how about you put a lid on the whining?

No, not at all. I'm just confused why anyone would want to stick up for any stealership. I don't have the opinion that they are doing me any favors, that's all. They are what they are. If your not a good negotiator, you will get f***'d! That's why the prey on most women and the elderly. That is a fact. Oh, and to address your point, maybe white men can't jump; how many white men you know of that are in the NBA these days? It's fine though, I will find my deal. You'll see.

I always suggest a substantial test drive before making a final decision ... Try to get some highway time in on the bikes or try to simulate your normal riding habits as closely as possible and only then make your decision .
Hahahahha...... Come on man! No one buys a Big Dog for how it rides. It's all about the wave's :hi: the thumb's up :2thumbs: and the looks  you get when you pass by. :D

Dispatch. Just an FYI here is the NADA book value on your bike. The highest price is for perfect condition with every option available.

Don’t know dawg. Maybe you should try to sell it to a Harley Dealership and see what they will give you for it.

Love your boat ... great floatation devices! Is that an inboard or outboard motor?

I agree, your best bet is to not get in a hurry, and sell your Road Glide. Then you can really deal on a BD if that's what you want. But I'll tell you right now I own both a 05 BD Chopper and a 07 H-D Ultra Classic so if your looking for the coolness factor and a comfortable ride, your at opposite ends of the spectrum. They both serve a different type of riding purpose. I know, Raywood and some of the guys on here ride a shit load of miles on their Dogs and I have the utmost respect for them, I can't do it. But just from reading your posts, your really unsure a BD is what you want. Take your time on your choice, you only have to please yourself

Couldn't care less if they see them or not. Just hoping that I will have better luck this time. Maybe, maybe not. If I don't, I'll dump them too. As I always tell them, someday you'll be on the other end of this phone call needing help. Here's hoping you never have these experiences, ah? Who knows, but thanks for caring. :D

Brother you got some real issues with dealers  Maybe you would be better off just selling yours outright. A dealer got to make money too. I've seen some bad dealers but none thats going to ruin my day or keep me up at night. At this rate your going to have a heart attack and not be able to ride :D

It is unfortunate that Dispatch wishes to slander and distort the facts solely because I did not wish to over-invest in his 2008 Road Glide against a heavily discounted price. When I responded to his inquiry, I gave him a trade in figure of $15500 (local HD dealers wouldn't buy wholesale for $13000) for a total out the door of $13472. He kept complaining that his bike was new and should bring at least $17000 RETAIL which would have brought the OTD figure to $11882. I asked him if he would do that and I would check with the owner, he said no, that it would have to be $11000 OTD. The next day I made a firm offer of $12000 for our red Ridgeback and/or $11500 for our silver Ridgeback. Obviously in these times profit margins are slim and yes, for another $1000 I would rather not make the deal. Shops that sell near wholesale and pay over retail for trades do not last very long and don't service anybody .....

For the record, Cash or finance makes no difference to me, what I said to Dispatch is that it took work and time to sell his trade (which is the difference between wholesale and retail), that obviously we can't pay our bills with Harleys (LOL) and like him at his job I expect and need a paycheck every week! Ride well and safe everybody!
Never mind.
