TP to S&S Rocker Boxes

Need to change the rear cylinder rocker box gaskets on my 05 Pitbull. Is it a straight across conversion to go from TP to S&S rocker boxes? I've heard it's a good idea to change to the S&S. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Well, come to find out the TP rocker box install on the '05 models was a big mistake. The one degree offset has caused more problems than any other issue with our bikes. Converting mine to the S&S boxes will also require a lifter change, cam change, and no telling how many bearings or rollers. Wish I would have known this before, but live and learn. My bike has a little over 13K on it and I'm told that I'm lucky the rear rocker box leak was the only thing wrong. A 2 grand investment now will probably get me many more miles in the future. Oh well, gotta spend my cash on something. Might as well be my ride.

By the way, if anyone is still insistent on keeping the TP boxes on their bike, I have a complete set of the one piece TP rocker box gaskets bought in 2008 from Bigdog. Let me know.

13,000 TP rocker box miles, you need to check the valve guides, especially the exhaust guides. At least you're 1 who realizes you can't change the law of geometry.(Others will eventually get bit, half of them don't really know what a good running motor is).
Install a .600 S&S cam, increase compression, and fix quench(.040") and you'll have a good set up, with NO pms.
