Harley, TP was used by BDM as a cost saver. unfortunately, it was something that lead to other problems. the geometry of the TP was a little different from the S&S and caused the rockers/pushrods/valve guide seals to wear stupid in many instances. it also caused a lot more clatter. some have run many 10k miles on the TP but some have run less than 5k. this is a choice that you will have to make for yourself, but i would recommend that if you are planning to keep your skoot for a very long time, this would be a very good investment.

There are a lot of threads on the forum about this. Do some research so you can make an informed decision.

I will do some more searching. But at this point, the motor runs great. and I have enough shit taken apart with the tranny, and primary updates.

But will keep it in mind, and research for a more informed knowledge base.

Your 2004 would should not need the S&S. Big Dog didn't start using the TP rocker boxes until 05.

If you look at your rocker box cover and it has six Allen head bolt its S&S.

The TP Boxes only had 4 aleen heand bolts
