TP rocker box chrome fail!!!

How many of you had this happen to your 05-06 TP rocker boxes? Is this common. It is on the rear one. I found a used one in new condition. Just hope it doesn’t happen again. 2005 Mastiff. I just purchased it. Thanks guys!!

Everybody with TP rockers have or will have that happen. Some have them rechromed, or strip all the chrome off and polish the aluminum. Many threads on polishing on here.

My TP rockers on my 2000 did that too. Had them redone at Space Coast Plating services in Melbourne Florida

If I can strip the chrome off effectively I’ll just polish them.

Rather than trying to remove the chrome your self. Remove the rocker box, bring to to a chrome shop. They have a chemical solution that will remove ALL the chrome from the aluminum. You can then either Polish it out, or re~plate it

I actually don’t recall because I had other parts being done as well. But it was reasonable. And it absolutely needed to be done. I do recall it was like a 8 week turnaround.
