Toying with a tach

toying around with the idea of putting a tach on my 03 chopper. Have looked for years for a duel tach/ speed o stack set but can not find one so will have to settle for a after market enclosed on. Any ideas?

My friend has a 04 chopper and it has the same speedo/tach unit as mine (05 Ridgeback). Wouldnt yours have the same unit? If not, you coudnt find one online somewhere?

No, my speedometer will not accept the wrap around digital tach that came stock on later bikes.

I should have taken a closer look at the skoot on Sunday, I meant to since I haven't seen an 03 chopper. Is that mount welded into the bars?

You should be able to find something from Harley or Autometer that might bolt right in though.

If you fancy the 04+ you could always buy the bars cut and weld the ends of your bars to except the Harley controls and bingo.

Mount is a clamp. I really like what Grizfish showed me. I sent a PM to Derrick & donna of Grizfish photo to see if they have this set up.

That sucks. Might have to go smaller and make a flange for the bigger hole.

Why do you need a tach?
I have one on my 107 and hardly look at it ..ok 2 grand is around 60 mph.
other than that , I know if it is idling too fast , and if you are on it ,you shift when it feels good...
Honestly ,I do not know what the tach reads at 100+ mph, too busy looking down the road .

If you wanna spend the dough, there are mirrors with speedo and tachs built into them. I think they go for about $650. Costly, but custom is expensive.

Called Derrick & Donna, there out till the 7-10-15. But I left her a message. She will call me when they return. I have lived with out one for 12 yrs. what's 8 more days!
