Hey guys I did a quick search but didn't see an answer previously - sorry if its been covered.......

Can you guys tell me from your experience if the Touring Bag w/top roll suffers from sun fade. IOW..does the black tend to fade out like the pos bag I have now? My current has faded quickly to a purple'ish grey from the sun. It hasn't been rained on. :bang:

I'm trying to decide on the BD touring bag or switch to a leather piece. Thanks for any input.

I leave my BDM touring bag on the bike year round and it has now been on 15 months with no fade yet.

My black T-bag has faded to a shit brown. My new Saddlemen states that it's fade resistant, we'll see!

I used a BD tour bag with top roll for a while then got the Kuryakan Ultra Tour Bag. It really has lots of room and sets well on my K-9. (See my thread in the "How To" section for mounting recommendations.) There's a front zippered flap that allows access to the entire volumn rather than having to dig down through all your stuff as with the BD bag/top roll. Also, you can use the Ultra Tour Bag as a back rest. No problems with fading. Found mine on ebay for $120 including shipping. Good luck with your selection.

Thanks for the input guys....feel free to keep it coming - still undecided.

Knotso - i was gonna say cool good to hear, but hey wait a min. do you even see the sun in WA?

Barhopper - thanks, do you leave yours on - how long etc..?

Raywood - thanks, that's what I was afraid of; and I guess WA does get some sun after all eh.

Whistler - thanks also for the experience, maybe if it doesn't have too much TX sun time; you'd like to part with it - PM if so. I do like that size/shape etc.

Ah decisions... i could have worse probs then trying to decide which accessory to add though. NC sun can be brutal.

3200 Miles so far with no significant probs though on my slightly used K9.

Jim, I was stationed in sunny Southern Kalifornia where it sat in the sun all day everyday while I was at work.

It won't fade if the bike is parked in the garage all the time! :whoop:

I think that if I was to keep mine out in the sun all day again I would use the existing rain cover they all come with and keep it covered up from the rays.

Here is my T-bag after about a year at the Easyrider show in Pomona.

Good luck,
Ray

Damn, thanks Ray...I think that settles the question pretty clear.

Yep, I'm riding mine daily to work and its sits in the sun. T-Bag won't work for me. Appreciate the time.

Damn Ray, are you sure you didn't order the shit brown T-bag? It looks like a piece of desert camo now.

I have a T-bag and it hasn't faded at all. I have been using it for two years now. I keep my bike in a garage unless one's not available though. I also tend to take the bag off unless I am on a trip. Ray's bag spends more time out on the road than anyone I have ever come across though so he will certainly put one to the test.

It's the Baja. Worked well for me for 3 years except for the serious fading.
Have a larger Saddlemens now.

I have the Tahoe for road trips and I was looking for something for just running around town. I'm thinking about the Vegas, but I like the rubber bottom on this bag.
