Ok, sorry just have to vent here. So a month ago I drop the $704.00 and order the PDM for my bike from BDM. I call today to check on it and I have just experienced the worst customer service in my life. I talk to "Bob" who people had recommended and I get told that they ran out of the one of the parts and it's probably going to be another 2-3 weeks before they get any. All this and he never even asks my name, order number, or anything.:bang::bang::bang: Doesn't even ask when I ordered it. I mean is this place being run out of someone's basement or garage? I can tell you that if I hadn't already sent the money I would definitely be installing a WP this weekend. And if anybody on here actually works for BDM let me know because I have a 14 year old son that would be glad to come answer the phones for you and be a heck of a lot more professional and informative.:angry::angry:

Probably will, just wanted to share my experience so far with anyone considering a rewire. Would not want anyone getting in this situation without being warned about what could happen.

And this is why Big Dog is no longer being built. They have no clue what customer service is. Never have and probibly never will.

I feel your pain my brother. I ordered a part off their website awhile back and called a few days later to check and see when it would be shipped only to be told it was on back order and it would be several weeks before they came back in. Was anybody gonna let me know and is it really too much to ask that they update the website so I know they are outta stock. Wont be ordering from them again anytime soon.

Sorry to hear! I've learned very quickly to call prior to ordering and verify if the part is available and what's on hand. If on back-order, I don't order and look elsewhere. This process hasn't failed me yet... Good luck in getting your PDM kit.

"I feel your pain!" I ordered a cps cable and a battery strap on line. A week later the strap shows up along with a notice telling me the sensor cable was on back order for God only knows how much longer! So as I wrote in another thread I bought a Harley one for half the price adapted it and got a refund from BDM! Missed several days of good riding weather waiting not even knowing it wasn't coming!

P.S. I also got stuck with the shipping so I paid a little over $8 bucks for a $2.59 battery cable!

When the ignition module fried on my wire plus which was not in warranty I think I had to wait over 6 weeks for them to make it cause I was hearing back order , back order. I took it in a lesson in Patience!

Maybe I am one of the few. Never had any problems with BDPP. I usually speak with Adrian. But Like Brew said I usually call first over the phone before I place an order. I rate their customer service as descent, Not top but definitely not the worst.

I did call when I ordered and was told that I was looking at 4 weeks until I received it. I was fine with that. but now its turning into 7-8 if I'm lucky. Got Leesburg Bike Fest next weekend and I was really hoping not to have to worry ab out my EHC during it. :bang::bang:

Many companies love to take your money immediately for an order and then treat you like shit once they hook you...it's amazing the stupidity of this logic as it leads to major loss of business. A better bet would be to tell you, as some companies do, that we will not charge your card until we ship your order - that's how business should be done. Be communicative and fair to your customers.

And Advodka, make sure BDM know you will never place another order with them and the reason why.

That's such BS. They should be upfront about the situation and not charge you before the part ships.

I have had good luck with BDPP.

I have had horrible service from WP. it took 3 weeks to get me to answer the calls. And when they do, they repeatably say they will look into it and call me back, then never do.

I have had multiple problems with it.

So what seems to be the problem with your bike? Intermittent problem? Have you tested the entire bike to make sure your 100% sure it is the EHC giving you problems? Sorry if I'm asking you something that has already been discussed...would just hate to see you waist time and money to only find out it was not the EHC giving you the problems.

Ordered a PDM for my '05 Chopper in early February and have been getting the same response. Been thinking of canceling the order and going with a complete rewire using PM handlebar controls and switches.
