Top Motor Mount bolt missing

While inspecting my bike today I noticed that I am missing the top motor mount bolt ('05 Pitbull). Not sure of bolt size or if there are other missing parts such as spacers or Rubber grommets that go with the bolt?

I guess I am looking for what size bolt (length and thead size) washes spacers etc?
Anybody? thanks in advance

Don't know the size right off but beleive it is a 1/2" cap screw and flat washer. I had the same thing happen on my 05 Pit. Was taking a break and noticed I could see all the way thru the top mount hole and frame. The thread is NF or or something special. I ordered mine from a BD dealer they had it in stock at the time. Used red locktight when I reinstalled. Sorry don't have much more info.

It's the same as the two other motor mount bolts. I carry a extra with me all the time. I have lost two while riding.

Yup same one I lost. I took someones suggestion and bought a smaller diameter I went with 5/16"dia with 20 thread and 2 1/2" long (5/16-20 x 2.5)... so instead of it threading into the mount, it runs through with washers a lock washer and a nut. I used blue locktite, but you can use red if you want. Seems to be tight after all these months. Bought at a hardware store.

am i missing something?

No nut needed just a longer bolt and loctite....and don't forget to replace the missing washers. Amylulu can help with them.

The bolt your missing is a 3/8 x 16 x 1" length chrome hex bolt that you could pick up at Ace HArdware or any other place that has chrome hex bolts. You want to pick up one a 1/4" longer in length.

erldawg... not that I'm doubting you cause the size you are describing is at my local ACE but why is everyone above point to 5/8-20? (even calling it the stock bolt) mind you I am not a mechanic but are these inter changeable?

I have no idea where that size came from. In my service manual (08) the very top bolt is a 1/2"-20 x 1 1/4" for (K9,Pitbull) 1 3/4" (Mastiff) that goes through the engine mount and bike frame.
If you have a servcie manual look in Section 2...

The bolt you are missing is in my previous post. 3/8-16 x 1 1/4" basically a Chrome Hex 3/8 diameter coarse thread 1 1/4" in length replace both of them that bolt the coil cover to the head.

Also note the -20 is the number of threads per inch (fine Thread) -16 is a coarse thread.

erldawg... my section 2 of the service manual (07) has these these bolts attaching to frame back by the rear wheel... I will trust you as even if I'm off, they are like 3.50 each... certainly not going to be a big deal if incorrect.

just confusing... maybe they are different per model and year of big dog... who knows...
