My top end sounds like a sewing machine. I know the valve train in these motors are somewhat noisy, just wish I knew what was excessive.

Mine has always been noisy. I have a S&S top end too. Make sure its all adjusted right and ride the crap out of it.

:2thumbs: Yup Yup.... My 07 K9 almost reminds me of my 08 F250 Diesel sometimes.

It takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin' so i just keep on a twistin' ! :2thumbs:

It might be best to ride with other dogs and listen to their motors. Just don't be distracted by the different exhaust sounds.:D

Have s&s top end and use Mobil 1 (just sayin). I agree the best approach would be to ride someone else's dog... any volunteers

could be just a simple rod adjustment and clean the tappet screen.

then again lifters dont last forever

You can ride mine, but I use the Jim's Hydro-solid lifters so better bring you ear plugs for sure.:D I use 20/50 oil and that helps some when the bike is hot, especially in South Texas with temps at 98 to 104 almost daily. :whoop:
