Tools in your Tool Bag

What do you consider the esstential tools to be carried in your bag?
What size Allens, Sockets etc.

I'm getting ready to re-do my bag for the spring and wanted to make sure I don't miss anything critical and I'll end up erring on the side of more rather than fewer tools.

For example, I usually carry the 11/16 for clutch adjustment and a modified allen so I can adjust without exhaust removal.

Also, since I leave them on the bike thru all conditions, has anyone else considered vacuum sealing them to prevent rust etc. It's not like I use them regularly. I'll leave the allen set loose for my harley friends who never seem to have tools!

I have a set of HF stubby wrenches, a full set of Bondhus stubby allen wrenches, a schrader tool, pliers, vice grips, screwdriver, flashlite and tire gauge. My OG roll bag was collapsing so I stuck some 4" pvc in each end. Roll tools up in a rag and done. Oh, and a spare fuse.

I looked at the Bondhaus stubby but I hate bell end allens, have never had good luck with them, but might go that route for the stubby end and use the ball end once everything is loose.
I also carry a LiOn jump start set, spark plugs. some gas line (occansionally shorter gas line and couplers) hose clamps, locktite (blue) Silicone stretch wrap/tape, electrical tape, paracord.
My friends tend to think I go prepared and make boy scouts look like amateurs!

Here is my tool bag. I have changed the Allen to the ball end cause there's a few places it makes it easier.

Socket is a deep 1/2" socket with a 1/4" drive that is in the event I ever got to remove my exhaust but I don't carry the drive figured I could buy it or someone may have one where ever I'm at (hotel)

If I carried an extra key that would be wallet material not tool bag.
Now we all know how to add a bulldog to our personall kennels -- goto texas -- open toolbag.... All kidding aside I'd move the key to the wallet -- take the exrta plastic off and it will fit in ok.

good point. I should have been more exact and said my extra key is on my dog tag chain. I have switched over my ignition to a 'round' key...

You'd be surprise what AI have been known to carry.
My first chopper, a BMC 918ST, is notorious for breaking primary belts. I now always carry one on the bike, since it has spoked rear 180 it requires a tube (not usually available at a shop), so I carry one. On my BMC I have 2 softtail toolboxes nad a roll bag full of stuff, including jumper cables (soon to be replaced by Lion jump system).

I had a run years ago probably 06 or 07 where we were coming home and were in themiddle of nowhere South Jersey and when I pulled away from the light I felt the belt start to slip and I knew it was going to break, was in the back, got to third gear before it snapped. I had wanted to catch up so I could tell the crew to pull into the ice cream stop up the road -- didn't make it.
One of the wives was following in her car and pulled over behind me and my tail-gunner went ahead to bring everyone back.
I pulled the primary cover and the belt was shredded like cotton candy inside (mush to my crew's amazement)
The response were primarily - "Oh, shit what are we going to do now" We're going to be here for a while"
I told them all I need was maybe 15 minutes -- They scoffed.
I cut the remaining old belt off the rear pulley, pulled the spark plugs, pulled the starter pinion gear off.
I reached into my bag and pulled out the spare belt to resounding "Who the hell carries a spare belt?" to which I reply "Those of use that have had this happen more than once!"
I got the belt around the rear pulley and got the front caught with a couple of teeth (crooked a little)
Turn key, bump starter and the belt slips right onto the front pulley.
I replaced the primary cover and spark plugs and we were off again in 15 to 20 minutes ( the biggest delay was waiting till engine was cool enough to work with!)

ok, I've gotten a couple of good idea from some people of things I was missing.
When I make the complete list of my tools I'll post it here (and show how much space it takes hopefully).
I don't like being stuck waiting for AAA or other assistance especially if on a long run out of state.
Last year I cancelled our trip to Rolling Thunder due to an oil leak in the return line -- Did a roadside (hotel) patch and went home instead of continuing -- should have trusted myself -- damn thing didn't lose any oil on the way home!

Might add the 1 qt oil to this depending on space in the tool bag I am making, since I should have room. But I've never really had that big of an issue with oil on the Dog and even the BMC the only issue was wrong filter so it stayed in sump and blew out the top end (carb) and that happens pretty qucik so I'd likely not be that far from home/gas station/store etc.

ANd no I am not contrary to the looks of things trying to duplicate my shop on the road -- I know thats not practical (yet) Still working ona design to jack up dog when on the road that would be carryable.

Sounds great to me. The only thing I can think of quick is rubber caps for the carb. I guess you could just use electrical tape for that.
