Tool kit?

Had my 04 Ridgeback for 5 months now, the sun has been out a lot lately (very rare here in England) and i have found myself clocking up at least a hundred miles every time i take a ride out evenings and weekends in the little time i get. It suddenly dawned on me while i was out tonight, i ride alone and carry nothing but a packet of cigarettes, some cash and a cell phone. Now don't get me wrong, my bike as been pretty much faultless since i have had it and i have clocked at least a couple of thousand miles with no issues, but should i be carrying some tools maybe? If so what would you recommend? Or do i just keep my cell phone fully charged and rely on a recovery truck should anything go wrong?

several threads on what people carry in their tool kits. use the search bar and make the decisions from there.

and FYI, i bought mine new in '07 and have put approx. 15000 on it without a tool kit.:eek::cheers:

I think a toolbag on the bike is always a good idea ,you never know if you be stranded and can help your self ,I always carry my toolbox with me .:2thumbs::cheers:

I keep a T-bag on my luggage rack an my sissy bar. I keep spark plug wrench, extra set of plugs, small socket set, multi tip screw driver with Allen tip heads also, zip ties, tire air presure gauge and a set of wire pliers. The T-bag doesn't look bad, I also keep a caliper lock in there for when I park some where, I put my cell phone, wallet and keys in one of the side pockets so I am more comptable and do not get bothered with stuff, also have learned when my HD broke down on a 90* day in the middle of no where and had to wait 2 hrs for a tow truck that a couple of bottle waters thrown in on every ride is nice!

If you ride with a sissy bar and a T-bag like I do. Get something like this, add your tools, zipties, and a extra set of plugs! You will be suprised how much you use it, as well as helping others in distress !
