Another concern for me is I don't want to give the "Man" any reason to pull me over!!! :D

Well, there was that one time we got stopped for only doin 75+ in a 55, and he did have a lil chat with me about my stolen bike.

Turns out whoever had the tag before I did, reported the bike stolen. Trooper said he knew I was legal and all but did want to give me a heads up that some inexperienced cop may think he has "found" a stolen bike and it may not go so well till they figure it out.

Not one word about the vertical plate.

Nothing like seeing these bikes loaded down for the long runs. And camping is cool!

Great pics. :D

for those of us in Fla and for you guys riding down here, Fla DID pass the law on display of plates. Several weeks back the St Pete police parked outside the Quaker Steak and Lube (a very large bike night event) and issued tickets for the wrongful display of plates and loud exhaust. even if you are from out of state you can still be ticketed. But for me i still run boths bikes with the plates turned.

I checked one time with a local cop I happen to know, and he confirmed that it is illegal in WA to have a vertical plate - but as KnotSo said, I don't think they ever bother to ticket for it - never heard if it happening.

I flipped my plate last year, and I think it looks better. Haven't been stopped for the plate, but give it time.

KNOTSO Our local fuss only says its got to be able to read the plate.Would your plate be better if the baddog was turned around? But leave the plate flipped 05CHOP

Check your state laws before you flip. Some state don't allow it and you'll get a ticket from a scumbag LEO. One of my buddies got one last year here in Jersey.

:2thumbs: Thanks for all the input. Still trying to decide. Man, there is some good looking bikes in this thread. Love the one Ray has with it loaded down like a mini van. I can't get that much stuff in the bed of my truck. :2thumbs:

Yeah it may be illegal but I carry a set of allen wrenches... just flip it for the asshole cop! Then when you get home, flip it back!

Hey, now there's a cool idea, Gas - a ROTATABLE license holder. Instead of the folding one that BDM has, make one that can easily flip back and forth.
