Thanks Gary from OZ

Why? Big difference in width will require some engineering and one off parts. Few questions will be belt alignment, spacers, and gaps left in swing arm area? Buy an HD Breakout... already done for you. If you do get it done, post up some pics.

A 240?

All Looks aside I think your rim would be too big to hold that tire correctly. The 250mm choppers have about an 8.5 inch rim the 300 is 10.5. Going down 60mm is about 2.4 inches! I wouldn't go below 280 with that rim and that might be pushing it.

Thanks. Haven't got that sort of money now to buy Breakout. Harleys in Australia are near double the price compare to USA,another rip off

Why i said the 240, is i spoke to BIG Dog in Kansas, they said a 240 would fit & you hardly notice the difference. But to make sure i wanted to ask some of you guys your opinion
I'd see them saying that for a 250 mastiff but not a 300 mastiff.

If my memory is right the 300 mastiff came around in 2006 prior to that it was a 250, so maybe there was some confusion or someone misspoke. Cause I can't imagine BigDog would say you wouldn't notice the difference between a 300 and 240! That's huge!

The difference between a 250 and 240 on the other hand, that would be correct you wouldn't even notice and lots of guys have ran that.

Thanks. Lots of roundabouts in Australia which i dont think USA has. For me getting the bike around them with 300 rear is a problem
Hi Gary.... I also deal with and love maneuvering the roundabouts on my 300 rear tire K9! I live in Carmel IN which has become internationally known for its roundabout network. Since the late 1990’s Carmel has been building and replacing signalized intersections with roundabouts. Carmel had 100 in January 2017 and I believe 20 have been added since, more than any other city in the United States. Quite a few for a city of only 91,065 residents. Our mayor is very progressive and has done a phenomenal job of putting Carmel on the map. Four days ago it was announced in a 2018 ranking of the best places to live, Carmel took the top spot again. Compiled by the data company Niche, the rating "takes into account several key factors of a location, including the quality of local schools, crime rates, housing trends, employment statistics, and access to amenities in an attempt to measure the overall quality of an area." CNN Money magazine dubbed Carmel the best place to live in America back in 2012, but that ranking was specifically focused on cities ranging from 50,000 to 300,000 in population.

You do NOT have that many... you should see Spain! what you need to do is ride more often that K9 and you will get good at it!!! I have no problem whatsoever in tackling tight roundabouts... but, yes I do remember how I was sweeting it in the first month of having the bike!!!

Bud i have had the Dog since 2011, yes it was a big surprise on my first round-a-bout, with the 300 rear and to get the bike ARD approved they negative raked it 7.5 inches, it was like riding a pogo stick, and did handle at all>
I thought this is f__ked, but once it put it back to Stock i ride around guys on the twisty stuff.
Besides, if you go to a narrower hoop you will have to change the rear guard to suit or it will look weird, this will also mean modifing the struts ................... phuq that. Just ride and enjoy you will get used to it.

You know your getting into when your kickstand or pipes drag, yes that’s on my 300 tire. I don’t feel Much of a difference between my 250 and my 300 .
