I need some help with tire size for my 05' Chopper. It is running on Avon 120 front and 250 rear. I want to use Metzler tires but they are limited in sizes. The front is is not a problemt but the rear is. They do not make them in a 250 just 260 for the rear. Can I use the 260? Thanks in advance.

Well win I rode a Harley I used Metz front and Avon rear.
But now I just use Avon to have matching tires
13,000 miles on Avon and still cruising.
Someone once told me Metz handles better in the rain. But I never noticed
a difference

I will be going to the shop today, so I guess I will be putting avon back on the dog. I like metzler becasue I have them on my bagger but if they do not have them in the 250, oh well what can you do. Thanks to all for the help.

I just changed from stock Avons on my '05 Chopper to Metzelers at 4,500 miles because I got tired of the Avons leaking all the time - lost 10-15 psi front and 10psi rear every 3-4 days and had to break out the compressor and pump up my tires every time I wanted to ride...I started to think I owned an old Schwinn instead of a Big Dog! The rear Metzeler tire is 260mm vs. stock Avon 250mm. It fits fine - no modifications or clearance problems, looks a little beefier from the rear vantage point and seems to handle better than the Avons I think. Anyway, that's my 2-cents worth...

I had a similiar problem a while back with my front tire consistently loosing air. I mentioned it to my dealer and they said they had been seeing a few with the same problem. They went onto say, that they had taken off the tires from the rims and discovered a large amount of polishing residue on the wheels. They cleaned the wheels up and remounted the tires and it seemed to help.

They took mine apart, cleaned and remounted and it seems to have worked.
