Take your fender off and re-route the wires? There should be a fiberglass tube up under there that they are routed through. Might just need some more hot glue.

I had an issue with mine on my 03. I had to shrink wrap them this they were very stiff and would stay in place. Make sure all your tabs are still there.

They are still secured in the right place. They rub right where they come out of the bolt that goes into the light. It's almost like my fender isnt wide enough and the tire is the original tire.

Pull your LED's and you can tighten the wire up in the light housing by lightly pulling on them. Once you remove the LED's and pull the wires (gently) out so that they end up snug then put a zip tie around the cables so the the wires don't back out under vibration. Easy fix.

I will def. do that. But it still seems that they will rub the tire. It really looks like the struts are not spreading the fender open far enough. Any thoughts? Thanks for all the help so far.

It happens a lot with vibration.

Nothing to really worry about once you you get the problem situated. It happened to me a few times before I took care of the problem myself. The same problem happened to a friend of mine in Beaumont. I told him how to resolve the problem and he hasn't had any problems yet to date.

You just might have to much slack in the wiring, try what I suggested instead of taking the rear fender off of your bike. It'll save you a lot of time in the long run.

Let us know what you do either way.

Are you running the size tire that is recommened for your bike?

Not understanding the strut part to much. Do you have any pics. for us to see.

Your struts shouldn't be spreading the rear fender. Your fender should be a snug fit, it shouldn't spread to bolt it all together.

Your 03 came with a Metzler 240mm tire. Is this what you have on?

Yeah, it still has the 240 Metzler. I dont mean the struts actually spread the fender. I know the tire clearance in the rear is going to be close but my bike actually seems like it does not have enough for the tire to travel its short range. my wires are exactly where they are supposed to be and they are tucked up perfectly against the fender and secured nicely. If you stand behind the bike and slide your fingers straight up in the fender where the tail lights are, you can tell that the tire is too close to the wires and just the slightest bit closer to the left side.

Sounds like maybe one of the spacers on the axle may be on the wrong side. I would check them to ensure your tire is centered in the frame properly.
If you look straight down the back of the bike does the tire seem centered within the fender?

If you can tell us what side the narrow or wide spacer are on maybe someone else with an 03 can verify!

The wide spacer is on the left side (belt side) and it appears that is the the only way it will work. Once again i appreciate all of the help. Also, the tire looks pretty centered to the naked eye.

Long shot but have you check both strut bolts and ensured they are tight?

How about maybe the shocks bottoming out, That could have something to do with it also.

Do you have adjustable shocks on your bike?

Hot glue does work wonders, not only to keep them plastered to the inside of the fender but also right on the point where they exit the bolt to keep them from protruding too much and give the tire something else to rub.
