Anyone have any experience with tire changing machines..i.e. quality of one versus the other. I owned a snap-on one before and it was okay. looking at the coats rc150, hoffman, etc...anyone have experience with the cheaper model Atlas, Weaver, etc? I dont change a ton of tires but would like to be able to change one up to 23" and 11"wide or so.....Thanks..

Hey Nine, how does that work with the rear tire? Do you really need to fight with it to make it go on?

Brew, should be fine for the 300. Thought about attempting the 35" truck tires, think that might be pushing it.

I have one from Harbor Freight cost me around a grand and it does up to 20" dia and up to 13" wide. Just changed my 300 Metz on it. Its a little tough due to the fact thats its a low profile tire but I purchased a tire clamp and roller arm for it to help with low profile tires, I also purchased plastic clamps to go over the jaws so it don't mark the wheel.
As far as the dia of the front wheel being 21", I use the bead breaker on the machine to break the bead and then I used a utility knife to cut the tire in half around the circumference and then it comes off easy.
I think the coats rc150 is expensive for the average guy unless your going to be installing alot of tires for freinds. I have probably changed close to 400 tires since I purchased mine a couple years ago and I mount and balance a set of 4 tires for a 30 pack of bullets.
