sorry for the flooding of posts and questions. I put that Dunlop Elite III on my chopper and belt clearance with the tire is an issue. Has anyone tried putting a small spacer between the wheel and pulley to get clearance?

YOU WOULD TO SPACE BOTH PROBABLY.

how much clearance have you got? A little is enough. If you space the rear pulley you're opening yourself up for alignment problems with the front

The spacer you want is made by Vulcan Works or Machine cant remember exactly as I had to move my belt over when I put a 200 on my Deuce front pulley has plenty of room just remember to realighn the rear wheel after spacing

my understanding is that it does not mess with the alignment of the rear wheel because the spacer is behind the pulley ONLY and not affecting the wheel at all because all it is doing is pushing the pulley over a touch. it is i small spacer. about 1/16 of an inch

if you are only spacing the pulley then yes, the rear wheel is unaffected. As already mentioned though, you need to be sure the belt will still track on the front pulley

im thinking that it will be ok because the spacer is VERY small and it should give just enough clearance. I dont think I will get any belt movement side to side under power, i think it more or less slaps a liiiiiiiittle bit up and down...hoping to get my wheel back today and I let you all know how it goes...

Just an FYI to all out there who has a shop put bearings in your rear wheel.....they put new bearings in and they are the same number with no different markings than the old ones, and it was too smal by 1/20,000 of an inch and wouldn't fit....apparently there are 2 different bearings and the one we need is special order....
