While we all know and use Heat shrink tubing, please be aware that you can also get MARINE heat shrin tubing that shrinks more 1/3 vs 1/2 original size and has an adhesive inside the really seal the connection of heat shrink to the wire.
You can grab some even at Harbor Freight.
Just make sure it's right because removing it is a tad bit more difficult that regular heat shrink
