wheel bearings again
i was looking for replacement rear wheel bearing but have not been able to find the SKF 6205VSP25
i found some similar in the grainger website --
is this the correct one - maybe the vsp25 has been renamed ?

also this fastenal bearing seems to match 0474393
DAYTON Radial Bearing, Sealed, Bore 25 mm - Radial Ball Bearings - 1ZGH5|1ZGH5 - Grainger Industrial Supply

the sp25 signifies that it is a special due to the fact that the axle is a little different size than standard. they are probably NOT the same.
Those are for Harley. Ours use a full inch which is 26.2mm or something like thati was looking for replacement rear wheel bearing but have not been able to find the SKF 6205VSP25

thanks .. i think an inch is 25.4mm ,,, the skf model is not listed on SKF's site either ? so i am a little confused,, i called a couple of skf dealers also and they had no idea of the model mentioned with the vsp25 code /

i am still trying to validate but if our axel's are exactly 1 inch (25.4mm) then we would need the bearing designated with the 6205/100-2RS -- the 100 means 1 inch -- it also matches up with the 205KDD2 model on this suppliers web page

That's true but "More" made in America doesn't make it "Made In America"
Well, except for my Goldwing, it is about as American as a two wheeler can get. Sure there are parts from overseas (unfortunately and unneccesarily) but when replacing parts I will do my best to replace them with American made parts. Going back to the original post I sadly have to admit (again) that the front bearings from Romania was all good but the American made ones for the rear was a 2 out of 3...... New bearing on its way directly from Timken according to the email I received from them today, so except for a few days of down time it's all good.

I could take you a little more seriously if after reading your 2 comments I didnt look over to the left at your Profile Information and your other bike is a Honda...Is this an american made motorcycle????I also am wondering what kind of tv,wash machine,dryer,refrigerator,dishwasher,microwave,stove,stereo , cell phone or radio you have in your car....if all these are american made well than I guess youve made your point,if not please step down from your soap box and lets continue the discussion about bearings!!!!!!!!:flag::flag::flag:
My Honda has more American made parts than any Harley produced after 1976, as well as your Big Dog. My truck is a GMC, my American made boat has three American made V8's on it, to get around I operate an American made jet, not getting into my appliances as it has very little merit to this discussion.
And if that wasn't enough, I'm American by choice, not by birth.
Now lets go back to the bearings discussion.
