After chasing down the electronic gremlins, a friend and Harley mechanic from Bayside Harley made a house call and we re-checked the wires once more looking for a short and finally came to the conclusion that the original EHC on 03 Mastiff has finally gone over to the dark side. Now its time to look for a replacement EHC or go with a Thunder heart or a WP. As this is going on an 03 I am sure there will have to be some amount of splicing to the harness.
Looking at the pros and cons:
BDM replacement $800 (+-) on back order and still may be a future problem.
I have read nothing but good about both the Thunder heart and the WP.
Thunder heart $300 (+-) used by other builders
WP $500 (+-) also used by other builders, plus I have read that the ignition switch has to be changed out.
My question: Is one more easier to install then the other and more reliable?
