Well went for the last ride on the Chopper a few weekends ago.
Another year passes. I'm begining to hate winter.
I look as it as 120 days of hell. I'm not even looking forward to snowmobiling this year.
My wife and I went for a cold ride up on the mountain . Did about
80 miles - froze out asses off - gas stabilizer, took the batteries out
put Chopper up on the lift & cover'd her up till Spring .
Heres a pic of me and my bride of 23 years.(Shes definately callender material) maybe next year.I like telling the story when I proposed to her
I asked her if she wanted a ring or a bike (Sportster) she picked the bike.
We were young and struggled paying the bills - I bought her a ring also.
Shes a great riding partner - I love our weekend trips - as well as our vacation - Laconia,Daytona,Myrtle Beach or Sturgis,we switch it around. The second pic is of us in a bike show this year at Laconia HN.
I got second place to a OCC bike . But I have to admit his bike was nicer at about $80,000.
Will check in the BDB site often as I enjoy hearing about others who are able to ride all year long - Keep me sane till Spring .

Hey Tim great pics! Maybe you'll get lucky this year and the global warming will kick in early and winter will be cut in half with a longer riding season. I'm rooting for you guys over there... :D :2thumbs:

With Irene last year and Sandy this year hey you never know. The weather
in NY is definately changing. Would love to get a longer riden season .
Maybe someday head to Florida or Arizona for the winters - bring the bikes with us.
I go threw bike withdrawal - Snowmobiles help but its not the same.
Hybernation yea thats what it is .

Just reading this is making me cold... almost enough to put on a pair of pants when I go outside (because I'm wearing shorts... not just running around nekkid).

Sorry about the cold weather fellow Dog riders. It was 80 degrees here in East Texas today. Didn't ride but did enjoy the evening walk with my wife of 44 years.

Been in the upper 40s to low 50s and a few days of dry weather. Been riding to work the past two days and tomorrow will be day three before the rain moves back in...:(

Your a real trooper. Hows the bike start in the cold weather ?
Do you switch to a thin oil ? How long is your commute ?
Do you hit 65mph :)

Yes this weather does suck. Glad I took a half a day over Columbus day and rode 200 miles in the Catskill Mts. Makes for a long winter when you can't get your riding fix. That's one of the few ways I get to relieve stress and just get away from every day life. Thankful I was able to put on around 7000 miles this season.
But, if you look at the weather patterns and how much snow we have been getting the last few years compared to when I was growing up, we are getting much less. Last year this area only had a total of around 12" all season. I remember when we would get 200".

Your right - didn't ride the sled once last year.
If its going to be cold might as well have some snow on the ground -
fire up the sled get some adrenelin pumping - I ride agressively :)
Spend alot of time on winter projects - customizing my XR right now,
wish I was riding . . .
