Time to decide....

So after the M-Unit failed on me last summer I have been trying to decide on a fix that gets the dog up and running again. Bike is in N. Va now and in my girlfriends garage. I could do a WP and still have the chance of a failure from the BDM remnants ...but it would be the simplest fix.....or.....get the complete rewire which I would prefer. Just wish the guys in PA that do this were closer. I may look at some of the other new solutions I am seeing but really would like it fixed and dependable once and for all.
Thoughts?

No way my friend.
As long as you still have the secondary harness connectors in place your golden.
Pull the WP/Munit crap out along with the stock Big Dog harness that is left.
Install the Module mount where the old EHC was, install the module, route the new harness, plug the connectors in to the BD secondary harness connectors and your done.

Do you have an installation manual I can see? Not sure what the secondary connectors you are referencing are.
Thanks

I understand, they aren't the greatest but the reality is the kit is so easy to install you almost do not need instructions.
I am working on a much cleaner set but it will be a bit before they are available.
This kit is a plug and play kit. If you follow your existing harness to its connectors you come to the secondary harness connectors. That's where you disconnect the old harness and connect the new harness.

Actually I take the part about not being ready back.
I am installing an 04 setup now on a Ridgeback that I am documenting in order to provide a much cleaner set of instructions.
The part where you see all the wires hanging loose is not correct. The connectors are already installed and labeled so they can be plugged directly into the existing secondary harness connectors.

I installed a Thunderhart
Bobber / Chopper wiring kit .
Came with everything -all color coated and labeled wires.
Took alittle time but everything works - and the modual
fit in the recessed area in the rear fender .
4 years now no issues, was about $300 bucks .
" so easy a carpenter could do it "

That's the same module that the R.I.P. kit uses only all the wiring work has been done for you. You just have to plug it in....:D
