Tighten your spark plug caps!

I just changed the plugs in the K9.

The caps on the original plugs were loose. I had some residue on the plug and inside the boot from arcing.

You really don't want the cap to unscrew all the way. They can be a real pain to get out of the plug boot.

I had them unscrew on a snowmachine years ago. Nothing like trying to get the plug screwed back into the cap on the side of a trail when it's about 10 degrees outside.

Good tip! I found the same when I changed out the plugs on mine. I just use a pair of plyers to crank em down before installing.

Mine are loose everytime I check them and I use a small set of channel locks to snug them up...Everything on my bike vibrates loose now that I think about it..
Maybe I need to pour some Dyna Beads in my motor too..

Screamin Eagle Plugs

I put some screamin eagles in mine today and the "caps" are solid fixed
I've kind of made up my mind to use NGK because they are easy to buy in my area, but for my list of good parts, what number SE plugs did you use?

I always put a touch of blue loctite on the threads a n dthen tighten them down. Also a tiny touch of anti-seize on the plug threads to keep any heat seizing from happening

I run solid cap plugs on my sleds.

I'll change the plugs in the Dawg to solids next time.

I think I would avoid using loctite on this. Loctite may inhibit conduction to the spark plug.

I check the motor mounts all the time. When they are tight, everything vibrates like crazy too. Can feel the difference in the right foot peg when they are loose. I check all the mounting stuff all the time anymore. Easier that way than the ole lady picking the stuff up from the roadway while she is on her walks....

I always seem to find mine a bit loose but nothing to write home about.... tighten em a bit and put the wire back on.
