ThunderHeart or Wire-Plus

Thanks! I just pulled the trigger and ordered the Wire-Plus thru LowDownChopShop, plus the ignition switch. Figured it's probably a good investment if it prevents the bike from totally shutting down whenever it feels like it.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Went to Thunderheart with the way my motor is set up .Will have the stcok one for sale next week from a 2009 coyote if interested Beagle man.

Thanks all for the input!

bdmridgeback... is it the EHC that causes the bike to completely shutdown, only to magiccally come back to life after about 10 minutes? This is the main issue I want to fix. It's occured enough times now to not only be a nuisance, but a safety factor! Really don't like the idea of going down the road, an then all of a sudden having everything shut off, as if someone ripped the battery out of the bike. I know a flakey ignition switch could cause the bike to turn off, but then it makes no sense to me that the same ignition switch could cause the bike to go into some sort of thermal shutdown, as that's apparently what is happening as simply waiting for 10 minutes then brings it all back to life.
Yes, Usually it is the protection curcuit within the EHC that trips. The breaker needs to reset and usually takes about 10 minutes to do so.

Hi All,

I posted about my blinkers, speedo and break lights so it sounds like my EHC maybe going bad. Anyone know how much the WP is? Also, I need to ride my Chopper to my new house 60 miles away which I have been doing a lot lately on my bike, if something happens what do I do? Can I run positive from the battery to my coil and it will work? Just in case. I don't need this headache will all that is going on. I may take my EHC apart and figure what makes it work and replace whatever is inside of it. Again, I am a Computer Engineer and spent years repairing Laptop motherboards for Toshiba which are JUNK but I can't imagine it is harder than figuring out whats wrong with a motherboard. Any thoughts? Also, anyone have a EHC for my 2003 Chopper?

get 12+ to your coil AND ignition module and it should stay running, after you push start it, but you'll have to use hand signals cause you won't have any brake lights.

I think the EHC is potted in epoxy, as in completely filled. second it has a logic chip that is programmed. So my thoughts are that if you can get to the printed circuit board in there and there's nothing wrong with the chip, then with your background you can probably find and fix the relays and or circuit breakers that are bad

Thanks, You guys rule. My break lights went out after I rear wired my left tail light which has caused issues before so I replaced the wires but I had to run them along the side because the fiberglass was torn up and I couldn't put it through. If I ever meet the guy I got my Chopper from, TOOOO THE MOOONNNN!!!! He closed shop with my HID kit and owning me a paint job from his guy who replaced my battery and scratched my fender. Pow in the Kisser!!!
