Thunder heart not lighting up

Could be a burned out light. But that’s strange that the lights would burn out, I’m pretty sure the bulb completes the circuit. But if it’s running it sounds like it’s working fine without the lights. I think it would be hard to troubleshoot if it does go out down the road.

It has been backfiring alot and if i maintain speed it will cut out every now and then is that related

Look at the jst connectors between the cam sensor and ignition module to make sure everything is good with the connectors and the wires in the connectors ...also check for wear areas in the wiring between the two also....but if my guess is right your cam sensor is starting to fail and will cause the ignition module not to light up and also cause the misfire sometimes going down the road....

It should flash when running. If it's not flashing and running, I've seen people install cam sensor ignitions in the nose cone and leave the old thunderheart bolted in there but it's not being used.

Take off the nose cone cover and post a picture.

If it is working with only one wire. Then the one that is not hooked up should be ground. Take a jumper wire from the negative and touch the Thunder Heart case. See if the light comes on. Are you sure it is using the module?

You'd need a jeweler's loop to see if the LED is burned out. As mentioned, one wire is signal in goes the one wire to the spark box, the other wire to ground. It could be a backfire but hey, if it's running with dangling wire... all that could happen is it acts like a kill switch and the bike won't start. That or the backfire went away, LED back on [no loupe] needed.

Ah, let it run and then stab the other wire to ground. It kills it, you're fast on the lift to keep it running. Get it?
